Embark on a sun-scorched odyssey across the Northern Sahara borderlands with Ap0the0sis’s debut session, “Saharan Pulse.” Rooted in Tuareg caravan routes and Sahel oasis rituals, this journey fuses tribal percussion and hypnotic house, weaving together:

Vocal Textures: Call-and-response chants in Tamasheq layered with Swahili cadences, punctuated by breath-driven shouts and visceral “ah-ha” exclamations, and sacred tokens—“Azawad,” “Nguvu,” “Mawazo”—echoing like mantras.

Instrumental Foundations: Djembe and darbuka grooves lock in with shakers and kavalo rattles, while kalimba plucks dance atop an electric bass sub-thump. Shimmering synth pads and field recordings of wind-swept sand expand the sonic horizon, with tin drum accents and pedal-steel overtones adding haunting depth.

Tempo & Mood: Clocking in at 120–125 BPM, each track drives forward with tribal momentum and trance-walking energy, conjuring the heat and vastness of rolling dunes under a crimson sunset.

Visual Vibe: Imagine nomadic tents glowing by lantern light, swirling sand vortices etched against the sky, and the silhouettes of Tuareg riders drifting across the horizon—transposed into an organic house landscape made for global dancefloors and starlit desert raves.

From deep Afro-House roots to desert techno expanses, “Saharan Pulse” is an immersive blend of ethnic vocals, percussion layers, and Saharan synthscapes that transports you to a starlit festival beneath the endless dunes. Let the sandstorm energy carry you into the heart of the Sahara—and beyond.

After releasing his debut album „Roadkill Grill in Novosibirsk” on Asquithʼs Lobster Theremin imprint last year, Manuel Fischer returns to his very own label Ozelot, to take care of unfinished business. What has been started together with label mate Prioleau on the EP “Bassline Providerz 1” comes full circle one year later with Fischer taking sole control on “Bassline Providerz 3”. The Zurich-based labelʼs sixth release completes yet another trilogy, after the Black Belt Academy series that ran from 2017 to 2018, and marks an end and a beginning alike: from this point on, there will be no more trilogies, which opens up a whole lot of other exciting possibilities for the label. New artists, new concepts, new ideas. Moving forward, a more fluid approach allows to aptly react to all the inspiring things that are out there. Ozelot Ltd. unlimits itself, if you want.
But before all this will unfold, Manuel Fischer hammers it home with “Bassline Providerz 3”. As the EPʼs title suggests, the three, well, provided tracks are dancefloor material par excellence. You can listen to them wherever, of course, but while doing so, you will better be imagining yourself on a dancefloor; as dark and dingy as possible.
Take A2, the prophetically titled “Doomsday Preppers”, as an example: it is hard not to think about sound system culture and the best records that came out on Orsonʼs Version label while listening to the trackʼs broken structure and dub-informed bassline.
Perfectly executed in house tempo and with enough going on to transcend mere tool- status. Let me put it this way: you will recognize a roller when you hear one. “Doomsday Preppers” shares the A-side with “Dark Shark”, its slightly more nervous- sounding sibling that makes use of a complex drum pattern and a memorable melody youʼll might catch yourself whistling after listening. Finishing off the EP is “Barking Shiba in Shibuya”, a trance-informed hymn that launches into space and does not (want to) make an effort to come down again until the very end. With “Bassline Providerz 3”, Manuel Fischer crafts three strong arguments for the dancefloor. In June
2020, at a time where clubs are still closed and the opportunity to dance is limited to oneʼs own home, he reminds us of better times that were and better times that will be. These three cuts will make you want to get down to business.

For Bajram Bili, every new record is the kick off for reinventing himself in a series of explorations and experimentations. 

After venturing through techno, Adrien Gachet opens a new page bursting with artistic possibilities and sonic freedom. His new research is founded on two cornerstones : his reassuming of the piano, the historic medium he’s left aside those past years, and the deconstruction of contemporary electronic music. The result is a flush yet tight affair condensing the broad spectrum of its ambitions in just six tracks.

 

A true mine for textures and melodies, Detuning Euphoria feels like a blinding mirage. The music conjugates cinematic composition and borrowings of the 2020’s club music, where laser synths and skeletal beats melt one another in bare and frontal feelings. It’s a total work, an exhilarating and untamed piece opening a new chapter in a maniac and turbulent discography.
