Maksim Dark has established himself as a prolific powerhouse on the scene over the past decade - his instantly recognisable style being picked up and celebrated by some of the top names in
the game. The Russian producer burst into people’s consciousness in 2011, winning the ear of techno royalty like Richie Hawtin and Dubfire. Having released five albums (Alkapones in 2011,
Mechanica in 2012, With Bated Breath in 2013, My Time Is Fire in 2014, Unbroken in 2015) - plus countless singles and remix projects - he’s back with what is perhaps his most accomplished work to date.
Insomnia contains 13 tracks of the talented Russian’s signature sound - tough, shadowy techno that grooves hard and is shot through with attitude and style. 

From opener ‘Dominator’ through to Dark’s personal favourte ‘Globalize’ and other highlights such as the LP’s lead single ‘Loud
Rave’ and brooding closing track ‘Noah’, this long-player could be one of Dark’s epic sets behind the decks. There’s linearity to the journey and each track seems to complement the other. Drums hit hard, pitched down vocals add the edge, and his beautifully-designed laser-sharp synths cut through everything creating the ultimate soundtrack to the nights we want never to end.

Firstly, props to Necta Selecta for getting me involved with The Subheavy Radio Show! Feeling radio-gaga about joining a musical project that's for both local and global ears.

For my first show I bring you an exclusive DJ set from Swiss-based techno artists DUALISM. As well as being ridiculously humble, these two have enough accomplishments in the world of sideways techno to potentially excuse that mode of behavior. But because they're nice, they don't.

As well as performing deep and moody Live PA and DJ sets all over the world they run one of my favorite labels, Numbolic. This has offered vinyl and digital releases from artists such as Display FM, Kane Roth, Christian Dittmann, Hidenobu Ito and many more. Their own releases span across labels such as 31337, Maschine, Archipel and Emote Music.

I will also play an hour or so of juxto-techno, my own style/brand of contrasting moods, textures and rhythms. Because the world clearly needs more silly names for describing electronic music ;)

Maksim Dark - (Live DJ) Was born in the distant Ural, in Serov, Russia. He developed his passion for music in early adolescence. At 16 years of age he began to engage and experiment with music. He had plenty of ideas but was too young to afford expensive studio equipment and space. That didn't stop him from making his first 100 releases on the cheapest pair of speakers.Discovering the darker style of music for the first time, Maksim felt an intense adrenaline rush throughout his body. He was inspired to create something similar of his own, so he began by listening to all kinds of sounds while sitting in a room with the lights off, in a complete darkness. His own signature dark minimal sound was born. At present Maksim still passionately works on improving his technique, blending different styles and incorporating new elements to create a completely unique sound, a sound which does not have a name yet.

Ibiza and UK-based electronic duo P.O.U (Product Of Us) are set to release their debut album, ‘Breathe,’ on April 25th via their label Of Us Records. Featuring a stellar collection of progressive and melodic house and techno tracks, the twelve-track ‘Breathe’ showcases the duo’s signature sound, blending uplifting melodies, dynamic beats, and emotional depth. The album includes collaborations with some of the underground dance scene’s brightest talents, including Jamie Wiltshire, Emilie Rachel, Rory Hope, Oddfellowz, SPARTAA, and Zahra Palmer.

Make Me Feel

Part 2 of the Propaganda remixes picks up where the first left off. Gathering together some of the finest talent in contemporary techno, Oliver Huntemann’s killer LP from late 2017 gets more new reworks and remixes.

'Momentum' is flipped by the ever dependable André Winter, who’s deep and groovy interpretation brings new textures to the orignal and will delight fans of his previous work.

Fur Coat, the producer duo originally from Venezuela and now based in Barcelona, bring their own specific flavour to one of the album highlights, 'Egoist'. Their remix is a stripped down driving techno cut with a deeply acidic undertone.

Olivier Giacomotto, the techno producer from Bordeaux, France, provides a electro infused rework of 'Vertigo', adding sharp
808 patterns, a thick cut groove, and eventually some deep pads to his version.

'Malaria' gets the treatment by SHADED who drops his Dark Stab mix. Skyler Patrick Taugher, the Californian behind the
SHADED moniker, brings a particularly tough mix for one of Huntemann’s key tracks - a sure fire peak time winner.

Another album highlight 'Doppelgänger' is remixed by Berlin resident and Upon You boss Marco Resmann, adding layers of
dynamic rhythym with which to counterpoint his edgy pads and deep synth touches.

'Trick17' is giving a mix by Senso regular Distale. A filthy, low roller with fathoms-deep sub bass and and sparkling percussion.

The young Russian Maksim Dark adds his own interpretation of 'Poltergeist' to the release, edging up the darkness a little
more and producing a growling, tough techno workout that will go over big on a lot of floors this year.

The man from Rostock, Carlo Ruetz, provides a slick dub of 'Der schwarze Kanal’, stripping away any superfluous sounds
and setting the controls fort he heart oft he dancefloor.
