A spearhead of the ‚Neo Progressive’ movement - that’s Martin Bley alias MATCHY, a leading synonym for modern deep and melodramatic techno and house. With a profound sense and a highly empathic absorption, the half of the former duo Matchy & Bott sprinkled continously sales charts and playlists with dozens of siginficant releases over the past years. A formidable amount of loyal followers, supporters and fans have been built up. For a good reason! The enormous qualitative output settled down in the release catalogues at some of the foremost labels in the electronic underground scene within 5 years, and is an evident hint that something great has grown. As the producing part of Matchy & Bott, Martin placed an incomparable stamp on the Katermukke imprint, which belongs to the infamous Kater Blau Club (ex-Bar 25 and Kater Holzig). Since the impact of the „Too Late For Lovin EP“ in 2013, things went beastly steep. Alongside more than 10 contributions on this label and establishing a firm spot in the Kater family, coups with a vigorous effect followed up on Coyu’s Suara Music or Oliver Koletzki’s Stil vor Talent. 
Djing and releasing solo now since the beginning of 2018, Matchy quickly made it into the Beatport Top 100 artists in two genres, Afro House and Melodic House and Techno, in less than 3 months with an unbelievable output of more than 10 releases in that short period of time.

Slovenian DJ and producer Umek has released Vibrancy, the second EP in as many months on his own 1605 label, out 31st May.

The weighty, three-track release comes off the back of April’s 19119, and sees the veteran artist combine a tougher techno sound with more emotive, melodic elements. The EP’s title track is the clearest example of this, with a pounding kick-drum making way for a groove-laden breakdown halfway through. ‘Acid Rain’ is a heavier proposition, a full acid workout that harks back to Umek’s rave-era beginnings. Loosening off somewhat, closing track ‘Constellations’ is underpinned by a steady, measured groove.
   
"Vibrancy" is evidence of a versatile artist capable of pairing emotional melodies with the heaviest of techno beats, and is out 31st May via 1605.

Since its launch in 2015, Parabel has established itself as one of the main Swedish techno imprints with very well received EPs by local artists Joel Mull, Patrick Siech, Nima Khak, The Persuader, Petter B or Patrik Skoog.

Parabel steps up with Joel Mull’s fourth LP ‘Arrow Of Time’, his first album in eight years and the first LP to be released on the label.

If you’ve listened to techno in the past twenty years, Joel Mull won’t need any introduction, with three previous LPs released on prestigious labels Inside, Harthouse and Truesoul, and regular EPs appearing on Drumcode, Cocoon, Mary Go Wild or Kanzlermant to name a few.

This new album is influenced by traveling, time and the future’s point of direction. It is melancholic, cinematic, with the soul of techno at its heart. Here is the concept hiding behind it in the artist’s own words:

”We all have moments when we think about time, I do, especially when I travel. There is a certain loose feeling when I write music and sketch on ideas while I’m in a moving object that is blasting throughout space, such as a plane or a train.

These moments are more intense for me than, for example, when I’m working on ideas in the studio. The studio is amazing but it can also be too structured. When I look out of a window and have a moving canvas in front, it directly adds emotion and easily inspires me.

‘Arrow Of Time’ is the inspiration to this album’s title. It is both the time capsule that we all travel in and the journey that you do every time you listen to music.

Most of the ideas behind the tracks have then been recorded in my home studio adding a few instruments to the mix such as the Roland sh101, Lyra 8 the Roland tr8 and through the Elektron Analog Heat to get it to glow a bit more.Then processing it on my laptop with plugins from UAD, Softube, Soundtoys and with my favorite software Ableton.

The album could not sound complete and get released to the outside world without the help of my favorite mastering engineer Walter Coelho.”

It is no secret that Paco Osuna has an ear and a knack for acquiring talented, young artists and pulling them with open arms into the grasps of his beloved family-like imprint. Mindshake barges into the Spring 2019 season by welcoming one of the hardest-working and whispered-about names in American techno. 

New York City's Avision makes his Mindshake debut with 3 extremely well-produced tracks, all taking their own direction, but with hints of that yet forward-thinking - yet- retro Detroit sound that makes Avision stand out from his contemporary peers.

His titletrack 'Big Shot' is exactly that... a big shot aimed directly for the minds and bodies it encounters on the dance floor. It's as hypnotically captivating for the head as it is moving for the soul. Big dubby synth hits and vocal stabs give it that essential retro feel, with contemporary percussion and basslines keeping the track, well... BIG.

Paco Osuna makes his return on Remix duties with his interpretation of 'Big Shot'. He tastefully keeps the future-retro vibe from the original but ups the ante with tempo and energy to make big room and peak hour focused. Such a deliciously appropriate take on the original.

'Trippin' Or Buggin'' takes a slightly different turn. With it's heavy focus on highly intricate and pacey percussion, Avision makes his mark with big repetitive synth hits giving it that cool future-retro feel once again that has so defined this entire EP. The perfect percussive banger to fill any tech set.

'Missfit' completes the EP with an absolute floor stomper. Swirling efx throughout, repetitive vocal and synth stabs, intelligent yet subtle atmospheres... this track has it all.
