I’ve been trying to record this mix for years. It’s a bunch of records that I genuinely love playing because they make me feel good. Some old ones, some newer discoveries, but all sounds that remind me of going out and discovering music, of friends, of playing gigs, of Cork, of GoDeep, of The Pav and of making memories that are more sensations than they are stories. Grateful that the current world has given me the opportunity to finally record it 🙏

MAKSY001-A1-Endtrack

Over the past year since my son arrived I’ve been lucky enough to play records with him a couple of times per week.

It started with him sitting in his bouncer nodding along to the beats and now he’s standing up holding on to the shelves, tearing record sleeves apart.

I pulled out the records for this mix in those mornings and evenings with him and I’m really happy with how they came together. It’s got records I bought last weekend as well as some of the first I ever discovered back in 2010. The commonality being heavy kicks, hats and bass lines.
