11 - Tim Karbon - Male Gaze Freak

Bringing in 2024 with our first EP from NHS boss Galtier & Synes co-founder Druid on with their split EP 'Stone Hardware'. The EP’s four tracks are a collection of solo works and collaborative efforts from both producers recorded throughout the duration of late 2020 and early 2021, taking form as a hybrid collection of club-ready dancefloor destroyers.

The established end product of this EP is evident in the release’s title – an organic, primitive sound palette that frequents Galtier’s dynamic sound as heard in the last few years, combined with Druid’s mechanized futurism taken straight from the streets of Neo-Tokyo. Each producer has offered a distinctive focus that they have merged together into one evolving, unanticipated synthesis of proto and post-earthly sound.

Pindorama X700 is the new album from Brazilian artist KALOZIN, exploring contemporary electronic rhythms like Pisadinha, Brega Funk, Arrocha, Baile Funk, and Tecno Brega. KALOZIN deconstructs these styles to create fresh, innovative sounds using samples, broken beats, field recordings, and synths. The album's name combines "Pindorama," which means "land of the palm trees" in Tupi and was the name for Brazil before colonization, with "X700," referencing a popular keyboard model. This fusion evokes a cybertropical utopia, blending tradition with futuristic elements, celebrating the vibrancy of South American electronic music, and offering a critical view of colonial legacies.

444theGod is a DJ and music producer from China. Though known for his high-energy club edits and remixes, he shows a completely different side with his album El Poema Inacabado. This album of "unfinished poetry" uses soft piano and synthesizers to create a delicate and introspective atmosphere, pierced through with white noise samples and coarse drones and that pull the listener into a shadowy dream. Inspired by IDM, ambient, and deconstructed club, El Poema Inacabado seeks to transform individual experiences—solitary nights spent in clubs, recording studios, and college dorms—into universal resonance.
