One of house music’s most in demand producers and remixers delivered the goods for Hypercolour’s 100th release.  KiNK aka Strahil Velchev nailed four cuts of genre bending bangers for the label’s milestone release on the ‘For The People’ EP.

In the first of a series of EP remixes, Perc & Bailey Ibbs both come correct with new versions of one the EPs highlights, ‘Vacation’.

Perc tears it up with a no hold barred techno ripper, whilst Bailey Ibbs weighs in with a funk laden, tech wig-out of the finest order.

Born in Dallas but now located in Berlin via stints in LA, Austin and Detroit, Alex Wilcox is a distinctive and quirky DJ/producer and live artist whose unique take on electronic music has welcomed curiosity and intrigue from a wealth of leading talents within techno, electro and leftfield territories. From his early days assisting and editing for platinum-selling pop talent Pinkslip through to his time at UR headquarters Submerge alongside the legendary Mike Banks, his entry into electronic music from initial beginnings in rock music signalled the start of a path to explore, warp and reshape the conventional boundaries of traditional genres. Fusing his own brand of eclectic club music with a self-described style of DJ sets that come as a ‘genre-less, chaotic whirlwind’, it’s no surprise that his next adventure finds a perfect home on Bjarki’s re-launched bbbbbb recors - a label known for entrancing, idiosyncratic future-focused output without limitations from distinctive talents across the globe

The release of Stuttgart techno boss David Löhlein’s HOTEL POOL EP earlier this year brought his young, Latin-inflected sound to Berlin-based BNR, and now with HOTEL POOL REMIXES, Löhlein’s tracks are traveling the world.

The first stop is Spain, where DJ SWISHERMAN (along with BOYS NOIZE himself) expand “HOTEL POOL’s” arrangement with a Carnaval of samples, accents and build-ups. A short hop north sees the UK’s Chloé Robinson and DJ ADHD compressing “CUANDO VENGAS” into a pressure chamber of tooth-rattling bass, as staccato percussion skitters off of the steel walls.  France’s u.r.trax brings out the alien in “LA PISCINA” over a Baltimore-club kick pattern, while retaining its galloping, double-timed arpeggiated bass. With “TIPSY DANCING (Hotel Pool Cut),” Löhlein returns home to join buzzing locals MARA & VELA, who jump on the mic for a pop-forward rework that reflects the vibrant crossover sound ascendant in Germany.  Ending with the original mix of the title track, HOTEL POOL REMIXES completes its journey as energetically as it began - you don’t feel jet lagged if you never sleep.
