I've been watching a lot of Southland and True Detective lately.  This was an effort to write lyrics as pared down as those television show - to communicate character and a wider theme leanly.

(I did singer songwritery-y bits when I was living in Camden from 2010 through 2017. It helped me learn how to write short form 'autofiction' (as opposed to autobiography), and how to use recording software. The pieces are a kind of diary of the time, and feature lots of in-jokes for the folks I lived with at the time.
