“M4 is a tune that I wrote back in 2017 when I was living in Bristol. At the time I was really into writing melodic pieces and messing around with as many synths as possible. I decided to add some heavy bass to this one cinematic organ progression and laid down some basic drums over the top and called it a day really. I think I sent it out to a couple people (one being Mala) and forgot about it. 

Another few years went by and the tune has changed a bit to stay in line with my current production style arriving at the version that’s set to be released. Abacus was just an all out bass experiment that I never thought would see the light of day and Dusty really shows off the more melodic style of my productions. After hearing these tunes played on big systems for so long I’m really happy that everyone can now finally get their hands on a copy.”

About the FRZNTMP project:
With this release our aim was to make the Frozen Plates night more memorable for everyone. 
Both of the tracks were selected together with Deep Tempo. A special stamp was designed by C-Bo just for this collaboration. The Chinese characters are written in traditional style: 凍節奏 - Dòng jiézòu which simply means 'frozen tempo'.  Thanks for the help of our Taiwanese dubstep family! Big up Dino and Keith! 
Just like all the other Frozen Plates releases, FZNTMP will be hand stamped and hand numbered. 
This is the very first but hopefully not the last time we work together!

18 years ago in basements and bedroom studio’s in south London, a new sound was born….
Mala was part of the music revolution which came to be known as ‘dubstep'.

DMZ, the label was created and 1 year later a bi-monthly event at Brixton’s Mass began.
Both label and event became pillars of the dubstep scene.
A scene built on dub-plates and vinyl only productions. played on heavyweight sound systems.

18 years later, Mala has decided to re-issue his back catalogue digitally for the 1st time.

All tracks have been re-mastered by the original engineer: Jason @ Transition Mastering, and still sound as heavy, warm & timeless as the initial vinyl only releases.

CXT007 presents the fourth of the label’s collaborative EPs where two producers present a solo track each alongside collaborating on two more tracks.

The final release on the label links up two UK-based favourites in the 140-sphere. With a heavy-weight solo track each - longtime Sicaria Sound set staple ‘Gruffa’ by nova alongside Taiko’s punchy ‘Pastorius’ - the flip of the record then introduces two dynamic collaborative efforts which perfectly interlace melody and bass.

@Yoofee defines his own laws in dubstep in his Albion Collective debut. Off-kilter rhythms, spring-loaded progressions and intelligent basslines characterise the Berlin-based jazz musician’s electronic output.

‘Seek & Move’ cracks its whip across the A-side, rolling head-first over a hot-footed bassline into drunken fills that reinvigorate the slick & steady tempo. Chased through Uematsu-esque backstreets, the cinematic ‘Jankar’ spirals along hair-raising strings, wall-crawling arpeggios and Berlin’s deep, rumbling sub. Yoofee’s jazz heritage enhances the oldschool tones of ‘Make You Believe’, its summer-sun piano riff coaxing dancefloor memories from behind locked doors.

Submersed in a heady atmosphere of synapse-sparking percussion and against-the-grain rhythm sections, Yoofee carves new, enigmatic roads into 140 for his Albion Collective debut.
