Away from social media and the DJ hustle culture, sonic maximalist Dr Anomalies has been turning heads in Northern England's DIY scene with an idiosyncratic take on sound system music.

In this mix, they take a break from their recent exploits into turbo-charged crunk and party-starting 160 styles to present a personal take on the drumfunk sound in full technicolour.

Reaching beyond the pillars of Paradox Music, Sci Wax and Subtle Audio, this mix features vivid IDM, rugged slowed-down breakcore and James Brown shouting incoherently on live TV news.

One for the heads who think they've heard the full range of drums-first junglism.

Here's a nice mix of tunes taking up space on the ol' hard drive. Mostly dark, amen-ridden bangers. Some old, some new, all power. A little somethin' to warm your blood during the cold winter months. I fuck up towards the end for like 15 seconds and i didn't feel like scrapping the entire mix to fix it, so just ignore that part.
