Loose Lips are delighted to present our label’s 24th expedition, E330 EP - a colourful blend of melody, mystery and madness from Merseyside-raised producer, Dan Ellis. A rubbery 6-track audial adventure, complementing LL’s lifelong love for all things braindance. 

The release includes 5 originals spanning killer breaks, jubilant IDM, gasping ambience, hyperpop-impacted electronica and maundering acid…then accompanied by 1 fierce technoid remix from a LL firm favourite and raucous music maker, Ben Pest. 

Influenced by GTA games, the crazy technical instrumentation and chord patterns of 70s Midwest emo, MNLTH and beautiful Aphex ambience...the release holds its own whether at home cerebrum-spinning, in a virtual world of hedonism, or in the sweatiest nightclubs. 

Having built up his production craft in his now Clapton-based home studio, whilst also starting to DJ more via a monthly Threads Radio show, the future looks bright, bewildering and bonkers for Dan Ellis. Acid Waxa and Global Goon, embark on a new release series titled Painting With Acid. Published across various formats with inspired artwork from Csenge Csató, Painting With Acid Volume 1, launches this April on limited edition cassette and download via Bandcamp, with additional cassette and vinyl editions to follow.


Global Goon (aka Johnny Hawk) is a former shepherd and programmer from Merseyside, U.K. Having moved to London, for a multimedia company in the 90s, he began producing music for fun as a side hustle while rooming with Richard D James/Aphex Twin. Following some encouragement from the man himself, Hawk released his debut album ‘Goon’ on RDJ’s Rephlex imprint in 1996 with rumours that Goon was an alias of Aphex Twin’s, persisting even after the release of Cradle of History and Vatican Nitez. He later formed his own label J-Hok Records, before going on to release more hard-hitting dancefloor-oriented acid tracks under the Syntheme, alias for Planet Mu and WeMe Records. The Painting With Acid series on Acid Waxa continues in the same vein, while also delving into experimental sonic soundscapes and downtempo ambient numbers, reminiscent of Goon’s earlier tracks for Rephlex.
