Hello again. It's been around a months time since I last posted... Far to long for my liking and mental health. 
A few things have changed in the time, from raising new born kittens by hand- to ending a 4 year relationship... Lots of feelings and strange emotions. 
When it seems you're doing nothing, but the world is constantly moving - It's easy to feel like you're being left behind; of little worth- like elderly or sickly in ancient nomadic tribes. 
But it's just a mind game, and I'm starting to see that. 

The mind plays tricks on itself, and if you let it run rampent, you'll find both body and mind out of control. 
Being rooted in the now, is integral to understand for mental health and true perspective on the universe. That being said...... my imagination, and it seems others imaginations.. 
People in general, have a undying curiosity for the future. 
A constant fearful obsession with what will happen next. 
Endless permutations and scenarios of how events could potentially unfold.. 
It's easy to think too much, and it's entirely too easy to get lost and trapped in those thoughts. 

That is what this song is about..  Honestly it's quite old, the song was written about 8 months ago.. and I've had the instrumental for longer. @https://soundcloud.com/sicknessmp 
Is the producer, as always... coming with a beautiful sound that makes one feel. Much love and thanks to him for letting me use the sound. With all the things that were happening, and how I was feeling, it felt like the right time to make the song.

Hello again, .. It is time once more, to emerge from the shadows with a track. 
Today is my Birthday, it's fitting that such an entry come out today.

This track was a collaborative work on a new level comparable to my other projects, a first to be featured on my page. 
Also a first for the producer and brain behind the project: https://soundcloud.com/planetragtime 
I've been following him for some time, since I started to get into this style of instrumental & sound. And he long stood out as a person of a high calibur with the sounds and production value.. before I knew what was good, I had listened to his entire list many times and download some more. 
The type of stuff I was finding myself so inspired by, I was writing complete songs more complex than my actual projects .. just on the side because the sound was that good. 
With no intentions of really bringing some of them to the light.. 

This track was originally recorded to a completely different instrumental. Just to show him that I was inspired by his work and this was what I wrote. 

After some brief messages, we connected heads, and he connected my original words with a brand new sound, that he felt fit the verse more. 
I couldn't agree more, and I sincerely hope you enjoy this jam. 
Two complete strangers from half across the globe in distance seperate by language barriers and connections came together despite all odds and made a moment that i'm truly proud to be a part of...
The raw mix fits the sound perfectly & lends to this message, as if recorded simply to get this these thoughts off ones chest. 
The song was initially something of a journal entry, it's about realizing the 'flaws' that you posses inside, to face them, not run- and fade them from existence. Fade them ALL from existense 
I realize that I am a imperfect human being, .. very imperfect. 
The song dives into details about my personal self and life, and thoughts. 
But it's not about being perfect, it's about being right & true. To others, but most importantly the self.

Fading Flaws: Produced/Mixed by Planet Ragtime [Lyrics in Description]

Hello again, I'm back from beyond, yielding yet again another track. 
While traversing the shadows, I've come to notice a great many patterns, in behaviour and desires.
Of both, those close and those random.. No real conclusion is truly drawn from my observations, but this particular song is an attempt to encapsulate a commonality that I see most tend to crave. 

I spend much of my time alone, and in those times, I am still capable of feeling intense enjoyment from different sources, and that enjoyment or excitement can be both physical and mental. 
Now, the important bit to note is that the mental enjoyment, can warp.. change almost completely to what once was, and also can be entirely dependant on other stimuli, such as mood, pressure or anxiety. 
But the body, on the other hand... is often more prone to 1 dimensional reactions. And the body, is much more reliable for gauging how one really feels.. 
The ninja knew this, and applied a wide array of body kinesthetics to understand not only of themselves, but also more of the world around them. 
If you feel physically ill to your stomach, no real amount of mental fortitude is going to negate such a fact. 
Where as a mental handicap such as negative thoughts focused on one thing.. can be altered by physical movement focus. And 1 undeniable trait, my body never fails to displays.. when I know that something is truly good.. is goosebumps.. such is the body showing you the truth. 
In conclusion, that's what this song is about. 

About seeking those things that give us, goosebumps... 
About the things that make is feel good, except with the last verse talking about ways we collapse into ourselves, and rob ourselves of feeling good.

once again, as each day passes- so to does another night spent amongst the shade working on tracks. It's time to emerge with a fresh new sound..

This one in particular was chosen to a few reasons erring on the side of relevance. 
In America today, our government has decided to shut down.. Why? 
Because of disagreement.. Conflict. 

If you look at it only on the surface, there seem to be various causes behind the battles and conflicts on the planet. 
But when you actually examine it, the fundamental problem is one of give-and-take. 
With every transaction we have with each other, what is my profit is
your loss and what is my loss is your profit. It is always give-and-take; someone makes
a little more, someone a little less. 
Whether it is within the family or between nations, this is the main problem. 

Sometimes in the process of living, we have to give in a way that may seem unfair to us. Or find ourselves in a position of natural disadvantage. But If we flare up within ourselves when these things happen, conflict in the world will be a natural consequence. 
If we don’t have peaceful human beings on the planet, having a peaceful world is just a pipe dream. 
That's what this song is about.. A simple message to 'think'. 
To think about everything just a little bit deeper, to attempt to perceive all angles, not just the one presented. To think on yourself in a greater way, to stop and examine the self. 
We here in the States have been raised and ingrained with certain values... 
But times are changing, and people are beginning to see that things are not exactly all that we've been led to believe. 

The 'American Dream' has been the ambitious fruit of many minds craving to taste. 
But as always.. one cannot be caught up in the spell.. 

They're shut down, but they're still getting paid-while thousands are furloughed.. 
It makes me wonder, what really is the plan.. looking back on all the 'changes' doesn't seem to work very well in our favor at all..

Hello once again, I'm so glad to be able to bring another jam to the light! 
It's hard to accurately express that. Sometimes making a track can be a real battle.
But it all only brings experience.. and for that I can really only be grateful. 

And especially to see, more followers each day, tuning into the sounds is incredibly inspiring. Making me want to bring things to a new level each time I try and share a track. 
This track is really quite simple, though ultimately wordy beyond all hell. 
From the words definition, 

'mne·mon·ic':
adjective
1. assisting or intended to assist the memory.
noun
1. something intended to assist the memory, as a verse or formula. 

Both of these definitions work for my intentions. 
As all I really wanted to do was make something memorable, and tell you somethings about me & the style. This song is had a new focus vocally, as I really am trying to embrace my full range when it comes to using my voice. 
Rather than sticking to one sound or one tone, I'd prefer to take it places. 
And if one really pays attention, you can tell that's what the whole jam is really aiming to be about, while at the same time lyrically, keeping things relatively down to earth and relevant. 

It's an old song, I must have wrote it in 2012.. I even had lost it do to a save error at one point and had to re-write it from memory. With new re-works for up-todate reflections. 
But even then, it never had a home, I was always kicking it to random songs that I'd find but nothing really panned out.

Greetings once again, I have returned with some more tunes to enhance the senses. 
I've been bringing out about 1 song a month, but I am wanting to change that.. and try to bring the number to 2 songs a month. It isn't something that is out of the realm of possibility.. but being a solo shinobi, things tend to take some time. 
Especially when I'm trying to branch out and bring some other levels to the music production, including photography, shooting video and editing video. 

Thank you for your continued support, comments, listens, likes.. It is greatly appreciated beyond what these words could ever convey. 
This song initially was just a lyrical exercise .. writing about something I considered fun, and more about 'me' personally than most of my songs are, talking about my feelings and what I think some days.. 
But, as the time went on while writing and making the song.. a few events took place that had a great effect on the outlook of the entire message of the song. 

The shooting down of commercial airliner, MH17.. where nearly 300 lives were gone in a few moments, and even more recently, the invasion of Gaza by Israeli forces. 
The death toll for innocent lives is very high.. and each day there are events that do not make the headlines where more innocent lives are brought into the path of destruction. 
For what?? 
I was wanting to make a song about staying focused, on the things that I felt were 'right'. 
About not being caught in the deviations of society, or the egoic mind. I see that a lot of people consider themselves decisive individuals, but.. I can also see that they live a life of constant change..
One can never arrive at the destination when the direction is constantly changing. This is what the song is about.. That the 'mind' is going to change, constantly.. It WILL. There is no choice in this matter.. If you look within yourself, I'm sure you could agree that most things that you have ever decided upon, have changed.. molded, formed to what IS..in REALITY..  not what is in your mind. That is what the song is about.. The mind changes, like the leaves in the seasons do. 

So understand the change, and try to not 'decide' all these things in the future, based on the past. We must be focused, present, alert in the NOW. The Past doesn't exist, the Future doesn't exist, not outside your imagination. Your entire life has unfolded only in 1 space. The infinite now, so focus on that time, and what is important.. Us, we.. Human life, and all forms of life.
Everything else is secondary, and since it is so, we must act as if so.

A great deal of time has passed since our last meet. It is with great pleasure I bring a new tune for you to listen to. 

I know it's been slow here on SC, but I must thank those who continue to show support, even during the down times. 
As an independent artist with a great deal of varied interest both productive and to detriment, I find myself being pulled in many directions without any strong polarization.

In truth the world has just been so interesting(and horrifying) to watch lately that it's hard to not be caught in the swell of the waves. So many recent social changes and events have taken place it will make your head hurt if you try to understand the greater picture from what takes place.

America sure is a strange place to live in these times. Interesting too.

But as the gigantic ball of chaotic beautiful energy swirls around the individual, the grasp of impact and change can escape oneself when feeling microscopic in comparison to the world. 
So instead of the macro - we focus on the micro, discover and focus on the areas of meaningful impact that we can actually forge with our own hands and minds. 

That is what this particular song is about. 

Reaction is akin to reflex. We often build up a reflex due to conditioning, it can be both of physical, and mental conditioning that bring about this reflexual reaction to a circumstance. 

When we have been scarred in the past, by a lover - or an physical injury. We may develop certain reactions to things that to us, resemble those pains. 

Have you ever reacted out of anger, triggered by a behavior or your lover that you cannot stand? Caught in a passion of instant expression. Only to regret what was said, or have to shamefully bury that regret deep inside.

I know I've taken a hiatus in the output of tunes for the better part of 2015, but no matter how deeply I find myself involved with a particular situation, my introspection kicks in an in some ways I can objectively distance myself from things I enjoy for the sake of study and understanding. 

This process can be detrimental to productivity, as it is highly thought oriented, and anything that is mostly thought, will bring about less actual result.

I wanted to make a more traditional type song once more, but something that signified to my minds eye that of sneaking throughout the night, throwing all types of shadowy raps at enemy ninjas. 
The lyrics are still spiced with a bit of introspective content, referinng to heritage, and self mastery. 
The other flavors within the words are hints of more boastful skill based lines, loose popculture references, inserted with rythmic structures that I find fun to listen to, and even more fun to throw. 

I wanted to signify, and solidify the Shinobi Style once more, with a new anthem. Using/Updating the hook section from the older jam, and flipping it with the newly learned ryhme techniques. 

The shinobistyle isn't an interesting or fun name, or something that I use for the sake of outward appearance. Though there are many inspirations - 

It comes from a learned & applied/interpreted personal belief system that I have developed through many different readings based on the spirtitual/cultural teachings of the first ninja people during the 15th century; with the inclusion of other practiced spiritual systems, both ancient and contemporary. 

In spirit, that is what this song is about.

Greetings once again. 
Today I want to bring you something just a little bit different from the normal boombap flavors I often lick. 
I'll let you decide the particulars of this flavor for yourself. This was a collaborative project in a new spirit, one that is much more patient, but that which does yield a great reward. I've been practicing more and more what one could call 'trust'. And trying to involve others more in different steps of the process as a whole. This song is essentially the first of it's kind from me. Much love to Zudo(a Shogun Beatcat)for the patience and hard work ! The instru was a favorite as soon as i heard it, with his hard work, the vision became reality. I originally wrote the lyrics in December 2014, so glad to see it given life. 

The song itself, as the definition of the word suggests, is about a achieving a particular measure of success given ones current circumstances and resources. 
The world is filled with talent, and many people seem to have found access in ways others have yet to figure out to the secrets of creativity and productivity. I'm not so sure myself there is a secret. But what I do recognize is that there is limitation, and the issue stems from our individual interpretation of what exactly the issue is. 

And example would be I used to wait for 'inspiration' before I wanted to write, or record something. And there were times were the wait was long. In short - 
You have to invite the muse inside, you cannot wait for her to to come knocking. 

We often have all that we need to accomplish that which we want, but the mind can hold us back a great deal, with aspirations, misinterpretations and quite simply a lack of realistic expectations. This songs lyrics embody the self refinement / betterment cycle.

Greetings my friends. I have returned with another track from the depths. 

This song I wanted to try something a little bit different, and stray away from my normal vocal approaches where I find myself trying to fill almost every empty space within the soundscape with my words. 
I often looked at my role in the music as doing just that, but as of late I've begun to reflect deeply on everything that I do. 
I find myself looking at some of the most famous songs within my memory, ones that a great many people find dear. One thing I always notice is just that simplicity can often have the widest reach and gives the biggest spaces for personal interpretation. Some of the best songs have the simplest phrases that still emphasize a message or point. 

That being said each time I find myself writing, it's always intense lyrical songs that are filled to the brim with syllables and interesting words. I can't seem to stray away from it.. 

This song I want to try something a little bit slower and leave some spaces in my phrases, taking a different look at how I decorate the beat with my vocals. The song is mostly for fun with lyrics that are stylistic in nature and in their focus.

Originally written back in 2014, my out look and feelings have remained concerning this songs message and meaning. 

Fate has a somewhat solidified meaning thanks to pop-culture largely, in movies and media when referencing fate, it's often a of narrow definition that ironically beckons the inevitable negative reaction. 
The writers of these scripts write both the question and the answer and it makes the concept of 'fate' in a movie production or book ultimately meaningless to ones every day life; But yet this is the most common interaction I think most of us have with the concept of fate or destiny.  

Bruce Lee has been quoted many times for saying 'Be like Water my friend', in his eloquent analogy on how water does not have a shape, but takes the shape of everything around it; How water can flow calmly, or crash violently. 

This song is about my perception of the concept of fate injected with Bruce Lee's water analogy philosophy; The first verse talks about self mastery, collaboration and awareness of self and surroundings. 

The second verse focus on raising the level of that self mastery, about going deeper that you ever have before, about truly opening up the mind and eyes to concepts that were once hidden from you, and that under heaven and earth there is but one family. 
 
When you begin to track your progress of knowledge, and do not get personally caught up in the process, you begin to understand how simple learning can really be.

Peace to all the peoples. 
I'm pleased to be dropping a rather spontaneous track on this afternoon. 

I heard this track while listening to a youtube stream that played lo-fi beats intended for Study. It really stuck out to me and I found myself thinking about the track even after it had passed for a long while. 

But I did like it enough immediately to write the name down for the future. Later, I Found the soundcloud link after some digging and just looped the song and got to writing. 

The producer Gluten Free beats was nice (or foolish) enough to leave the track open to download. 

So that's what I did.. and here we are. I've really been exploring this idea of trying to make perfect creations and how it's an illusion.. 
I want to become better at this. Better at releasing songs and different things for the listeners to interact with.. Ya'll mean so much to me. Everyone that shows love at shows, or online .. clicks play and shares with their friends is a hero in my eyes and I'm very inspired by your activity. 

It's literally the only thing that spurs to me to action... Things are looking up.

Peace everyone. 

It's been a long time.. but once again, I am back with a new sound.

It really is a pleasure to finally be able to present this track! This track is part of a larger project, Boom Bap Language; An international Hip Hop Project that spans the globe with many mc's and spoken languages.

Something for the world and culture lovers. 


Now for the song, which was written in 2015.. Quite a time. 

Theme is important to me. Considering the projects nature, I thought that my approach was rather laid out for me. I should try and explore something that encompasses the winder human, rather than focus on words and themes that are of American origin or anything that really ties the verses down to a particular cultural. During the first verse this is explored. 
The second verse explores my identity a little bit more.. touching on topics of stylistic origins and strengths. 

The hook itself was the part of the song that had the most trouble; I did write a hook that was a little more in line with the theme of the project, but something about it just didn't pan out. 
I ended up using something that was a little bit more simple and like a chant - A call to attention, to check the song, project and style out. 

I'm really pleased that this project is finally out now, and that I've been able to be a part of it! 

The song is an earnest and original take - I hope that you enjoy it.

This is the first of three, and the more 'fun' of em all - The focus on this song is as the title suggests, it's a bit of a flip on the vocals used throughout the verse. 
From gritty raps, to a lower, soft sung note - kinda jumping around 'Parkour'(freerunning) style. The hook, touches on my imagination, and where I find my mind - more often in the realm of fiction than reality. Among the elven and the dwarves.

Hello again, this is my first project uploaded/finished with a new friend and producer https://soundcloud.com/sicknessmp from Indonesia. Many thanks for letting me express to such a wonderful tune!! 

Fast forward through several nights of chat logs filled with broken English for the sake of keeping things simple- I was really hooked by the sound of his instrumentals, from which I could really sense about them a different vibe in the sound. Something that I was unfamiliar with. And when we decided to work together, that was the idea that I wanted to keep in my mind. 

Here we were, seemingly so very much so ALIKE in a lot of ways in terms of interests, and beliefs. Yet separated by a worlds distance and the cultures that we grew up with. 

And that is what I wanted to write the song about, but - not so much culture in terms of society. Culture in terms of the personal, cultivated set of beliefs and values that the individual decides for themselves to follow or adhere to. 
Everything from lifestyle to sexual preference, defining an individual is something I might dare say could be impossible. From all the things that make a person smile, to that which makes us hurt. There are some things that are similar, and universal, and there are other things which are not so easy to understand. 

I would hope the songs lyrics, are put in such a way that it is clear to see what my intentions are in my words. 
The intro, talks about the color of eyes... think of the color of skin, and how 'important' it is.. 
If one were to think of the 'importance' of eye color, and treat skin color in the same context.
You might find, there is not a whole lot else to 'consider'. 

The hook speaks artistically, comparing the mind to that of sculpting clay, with the individual as the artist. One should 'sculpt' up his mind, to not only be presentable - but to have the characteristics, tones, and values that one truly wants to reflect, represented in the sculpture for all to witness. 

This is also my first song that expresses my views on the LGBT community. I am a firm believer of equal rights, and as a open minded hetero sexual with a desire for understanding, I CAN bring myself to understand that love is not confined or defined so narrowly, as to only belong to 1 type of relationship in this massive and varied world. \
In this song, I wanted to express such.

Hello again, 
I am back once more with another fresh new jammy.. 
I was intending to switch things up, and make something a little bit more upbeat this time.
But after the recent events, in Boston, and just opening an eye to more global events.. 

I felt that the tone and subject of this song would reflect that sort of wind, that seems to be blowing.

This instrumental was one of the first ones he showed me, very long ago.. 
It was a bit shorter than this version too- He ended up losing the file due to harddrive issues.
But I still have mine! 
I had to cut the ends and re-loop to make the song a proper length, to sing the hook the way I wanted.

Looking at the content of the song, it's theme is a personal one. 
In short, one could say it's about trying to be right, and correct - in hard times despite. 
Remaining true to the self, and those that you love. And in that way, It reflects my views on the world. With recent 'terror' attacks around the globe.
I feel that something is wrong if you're not stopping to ask yourself which side of the field you stand on.. 
To those that would do harm, I feel they would only do so- because they do not know how to use words.. 
We need not betray one another.

The first verse talks about being unsure of why certain things happen, why they may be hard to deal with..
And ultimate coming to the conclusion, that It seems that I may be feeling pain for a reason.. 
A good reason. So I feel must explore that, to learn about myself even more, taking things to the next level. 

There is also bit of ambivalance to the 2nd verse, feelings that contrast. 
Questioning why it is I even do the things I do- Other than the feeling I feel, that urges me to do it.
There are no real answers, so to speak, things only reveal themselves very slowly.. why it is that I want to make tunes, and write. 
It ends with bits about connection, old and new, do strong connections in life happen for a reason?
And If so, do those bonds become intertwined akin to destiny? 

I wonder.. 


Really appreciate you taking the time to listen to the jam, it took me a few weeks of no contact and struggle to complete it.

Hello my friends! I am really excited to be writing this update and sharing this track with you today. So, about this track. Man, I've been sitting on this one for a long time.. not intentionally.. but it's just the flow of life, the movement. I'm not as attuned to being a full-time musician as I'd like to be somedays, and it's really quite hard to settle into that mind space, with everything that goes on around me. But, when i heard this track for the first time from my man Beatmaschine, I was hooked - I'm completely hooked on his production style and there is seriously not 1 beat that he produces that doesn't sound amazing. I'm straight up honored to be on a production like this. 

The song was pretty natural to write, I ended up using a mixture of older material and written new material to create the landscape for this new track, with a stylistic hook that I think is a fun evolution of some of my singing chants that I've been putting in songs over the years. The end result is a really fun lyrical ride with a lot of interesting melodic elements that I really enjoy. It's a really fun song to sing and perform with it's contrasts of melodically flung lyric sections and practically-yelling-hook sections. Lyrically the song is a showcase style song that is just talking about having cool style and that leans into the name of the track! Delectable.

This song is quite old, but at the same time the lyrics and deeper message of the track were something that meant a great deal to me. It's a concept that I would like to expand on in different mediums in some way, but for now, I am glad to have this form or draft out. 

This song is about breaking through limiting personal thought patterns and beliefs to manifest your dreams, to put it simply. I was very lucky to have Samura add her vocal talents to the hook sections to make them really shine! What an absolute treat. Greetings. I should probably be sleeping or something like that, but Instead I stayed up late to make a cool track that I was feeling. I wrote the song over the course of an afternoon two days ago, after getting this beat from a kat I've been following for a while, always diggin his sounds. 

Very glad that Jatos let me get on the beat, when I heard it - with the cool Q-tip sample.. the vibe was instantly set.

I recorded the track today, starting with the hooks. Just trying to make something easy going to listen to, but at the same time, lyrically interesting and delivered in an exciting way that wasn't normal, really not too hard of a task with a beat that allows such. 
The song is about obvious, spreadin love - Among other things, it talks about my particular love, and desires, and talks about the inherent desire to constantly stive to be better, each day. 
We all have our different paths, and desires- was for dealing with things.. 

But we all seek, and want to feel love, in it's many forms. It's part of being human.
