I made this song as a tribute to my grandfather, releasing it on my Facebook and Youtube on his birthday (February 6). The song is based on stories my mother told me about him, being a family man who provided for his family, and being the neighborhood badass in the community he lived in somewhere in Louisiana. I hope you enjoy it, and give your respects to good ol' Joe!

Good Ol' Joe (Tribute to Grandpa)

This is a guitar cover of "Come as You Are" by Nirvana in E Standard, which is my favorite band out the 90s alternative rock scene besides Alice in Chains, Grey Daze, and Stone Temple Pilots. The grunge scene has truly opened my eyes as to how something very influential to a generation can come from something simplistic, as Kurt Cobain utilized the "do it yourself" rule out of punk rock and crafted his own sound, being free to create something that surely defined the youth and Seattle during the 90s'. He's an inspiration to me as a guitarist and listening to him and other groups that I like, it further motivates me to try and create more music. May God rest his and Layne's souls.

Come as You Are (Guitar Cover)

Me and my friend Dave playing a cover of "Something in the Way" by Nirvana back in June 2020. As a quick backstory, Dave is one of the main guys, along with another friend to teach me how to play guitar about 4-5 years ago, with me learning a bit more on my own. We still have jam sessions from time to time. Introduced the song to him, as it's just 2 chords (E Min. & C Maj.). He decided to play lead guitar, and I joined in. As I was playing my parts on lead guitar, I imagined how Kurt Cobain must have felt while being temporarily homeless, which was the main inspiration for this song. God be with Kurt, as he was quite a clever and talented person, by playing in a simplistic, but creative manner and contributing to the grunge scene for the youth back then & today. With grunge, I feel it gave people the freedom to be themselves, and to remain true to who they are.
