US house legend Kevin Knapp returns to Crosstown Rebels eight months after his last appearance with the three-track Dancing With The Devil. Detroit’s ‘First Lady Of Wax’ DJ Minx features alongside, serving up a standout remix of the title track.

Kevin spoke on how his musical past influenced this production, stating: “I'm always looking for ways to incorporate my indie rock history with my contemporary dance music sensibilities. On Dancing With The Devil, I found this amazing acapella from an inspiring vocalist - I'm stoked Damian has provided me with a platform to share it with folks. I think it's a heater!”

Dancing With The Devil sets the tone, a murky, hard-edged house cut that brims with echoing vocal samples and swirling synths in the foreground. DJ Minx’s remix comes next, progressively building into a late-night dance number that showcases the Detroit legend at her best, before Tasty ends proceedings on a high. Kevin’s lyrical offerings feature, as fast-paced kick hat combos merge with stripped-back percussion throughout.

US-native Kevin Knapp is a leading figure in the contemporary house sphere, having cemented his standing as a true heavy-hitter with recent releases on Cuttin’ Headz and Repopulate Mars. Renowned for both his productions and vocal contributions, the Crosstown Rebels regular now heads up his own imprint, Plump Records, welcoming the likes of Nathan Barato and Demuir in recent times.

DJ Minx is one of Detroit’s most esteemed exponents, remaining a stalwart of the scene for nearly three decades. Honing her craft at the city’s famous Music Institute, she runs two labels in the form of Women On Wax Recordings and W.O.W. B.A.M. Mixmag named her as one of ‘20 Women Who Shaped The History Of Dance Music’, whilst Time Out New York described her as “one of the best house music DJs of all time.”

Paco Osuna's record label Mindshake welcomes a house focused EP from UK artist Ben Sterling.

Based in London, Ben Sterling is a talented DJ and accomplished producer who is well-known for his groove-laden tracks on labels ranging from Jamie Jones' Hot Creations to Eats Everything's Edible.

After starting his career as a Ministry of Sound resident when he was only 18, Ben Sterling has since travelled the world to play clubs such as DC10 in Ibiza and large events like The BPM Festival in Central America.

Ben Sterling has proven himself to be one of house music's most exciting young artists with music often championed by the likes of Marco Carola, The Martinez Brothers and Patrick Topping.

"Durh Brain" opens the release with its stripped back style, which fuses a rubbery acid-line with captivating vocal phrases and hypnotising rhythms. "Peeps in De Back" is another acid-tinged track with a jackin' groove and shuffling hi-hats, plus hip hop influenced vocal samples. "Whats The News" closes out the EP with its breakbeat percussion loop and timeless old school flavour.

After a busy eighteen months promoting his debut album, Essex-hailer Max Chapman brings us his La Fiesta EP on Hot Creations. The title track features alongside remixes by the versatile Luca Cazal and house veteran Todd Terry.

With Latin vibes from the outset, Max has encompassed the essence of The White Isle. La Fiesta is a  migration of percussion, chanting and melodic vocals and flirtatious basslines. Luca Cazal has turned up the kick and brings an old school vibe with his remix. Todd Terry’s energetic arrangement of snares and bongos compliments the provencal vocal perfectly.

Since his arrival on the scene six years ago, Max Chapman has released on an abundance of labels including VIVa, Toolroom and last years Body Jack on Elrow, that achieved number one status across all genres on Beatport. Established in 2012, his imprint Resonance Records provides a platform for the freshest talent in underground tech-house. Max’s album Catch Me If You Can, released last year, received a notable 9/10 in both Mixmag and DJ Mag.

Luca Cazal has been steadily rising up the ranks since his debut release on Crosstown Rebels in 2013. Constantly refining his production skills, Luca transmits positive emotions with every track he releases. After three decades on the scene, Grammy-nominated Legend Todd Terry has continued to release  superior productions and entertain crowds worldwide.
