MalLabel Music has some big love and heavy hitting bass music for you this week with the newest EP from the bay area's own MiHKAL, featuring a host of fresh remixes from some of Westcoast's finest.

'Music I Have Known And Loved' is the theme driving MiHKAL to to the lengths he has gone to bring us some of the most beautiful mixes for those chill and sexy yet turnt up get togethers and lately he has been killin' it in the production realm as well. After years of listening to his collections of Down-Tempo and Trap favourites I have been blessed in following him from Mashups to made-man. Touring across the US and playing pretty much every major Bass Music festival of note, he's back with the freshest vibes to share with us in his new EP Drippin'.

The title track is a ride through the depths on hood rich waves of elevation. Keeping it 100, this psychedelic crest of orchestral atmospherics gets those juices flowing, building tension throughout before the bass leaks all up in it. Accompanying track 'Into the Unknown' gets low and juicy with some vibin' darkness while 'Hornography' is a melodic Trap parade of horn infused shenanigans. Bringing a wave of straight heat with him, MiHKAL has brought some heavy hitting friends along to ride it with a flood of title track remixes. VNDMG changes up the current with a little more energy throughout in his epic reprisal, ChrisB. adds some ebb and flow with an intelligent little Future/Trap number that's sure to win hearts through uplifting synth work and finally Dubvirus & DJEDI got together to turn the tide, leaking mad psychedelia into the depths of an 808 fuelled river of harmonies. This one's for the late nights on festival floors when sleep isn't even close to an option.

Potentially 2015's hottest new Glitch/Hip-Hop hybrid artist, Ives is setting his 2016 stage for breakout with an eerie psychedelic collection of bomb originals backed up right with serious remix business. Tunes alone, this is one of the most unique albums I have heard to begin with, but this man gets hella real and in your face, like now. Amidst the message pervading every track, the art of story telling is not lost on him as he creates a whole musical reality representative of the feelings of our enlightened few with some serious breaks and the bass to back it up. Some of the strongest messages of change have pervaded hearts and minds through art and with his debut album, Ives hits the mark. 

Vortex perfectly describes the vibe within as experienced while moving through the album as it sinks deeper into the ominous atmospheres. The title track also gets a Trap fix by Metapød, while 'Echo' feat. vocals by Mage Tha Blackheart gets sliced and diced thrice with instrumentals by Levitation Jones, SRS BZNZ and Petrified Force. You want a real piece of art, look no further as this marvellous achievement of dystopian present takes you on a world-bending excursion on the reality of our now through thought and sound.

I know this because I'm a page or so down as I write and fully recommend this journey through the love language of music.

As for the track in question, Love... my favorite word and the reason we all do this thing called life in the first place. This particular love comes in the tough variety, opening with some beautiful harps filtering out to rich vocal stabs trippin' around your head. Then the bounce factor gets this hype machine moving up until the wall of bass runs you down like injured prey. This love brings the heat of a thousand burning hearts, start to finish.

With a consistent outpouring of magnificent journeys through sound, 
Pushloop has been developing a rich catalogue of thoughtful sound experiments ranging from psychedelic worldly vibes to the deepest of dubs. A seemingly endless stream of remixes, originals and bootlegs has carried him steadily towards a blossoming career in 2016 with summer bookings already announcing and remixes for and by some heavy hitters such as The Widdler. We're excited to feature such a unique style and you can be sure he'll be remaining on our hot list so we can keep you in the know as he takes it to the next level.

The title track opens the EP with the decidedly eastern vibe on which the album derives it's name, Jamila, which translates to 'beautiful' in the feminine and carries forth through a multitude of worldly essences. Continuing with 'Matador' clearly indicating the Spanish influence that drives ominous textures through the mind, the EP then moves to a very tribal vibe with the minimal UK Dub in 'Aluminium'. 'Night Shift' maintains the eerie tide of emotion with a little supernatural mystery and finally he's got The Widdler down with a little more bounce to the title tracks already rich overtones. This EP can only be properly described as an experience in darkness taken 'round the world. Come along for the ride.

This diversity of emotion and grime has brought him to melt audiences at over 40 shows a year and this latest EP might be the most perfect example of how his innovative visions come into the artistic light. 

Transgentleman is an appropriate name for an EP that takes us through so many phases of evolution across it's six pieces and even within some of them on their own. The title track gets weird immediately with some tripped out atmospherics and glitchy IDM noise generators before hitting you with a fat wall of bass to kick it off as 'Larry' continues the trip into a land of mischievous creatures and grime. 'Robot Butterfly' chills it out on a ride through the land of sprites and digitalis before 'New Kid' takes a mean interlude to an old school Dubstep vibe. 'See' is a beautiful experiment in IDM reminiscent of the great Aphex Twin while 'Moon Man' carries the vibe home in this epic Vaporbass finale. With so much to get down to in so many ways on this EP, all your crates with thank you for the love.

This week MalLabel Music is sweeping in extra low to snatch a fresh kill as Denver, Colorado's, Laika Beats shows us a life on the hunt for innocent ground dwelling creatures while peering through the eyes of one of the most majestic predators. 

Laika Beats has been breaking down the walls of your standard bass music for a number of years and I have yet to fall short of feelings to express what I hear when I listen to subsequent releases. The words to express those feelings however sometimes eludes even me. With no room in his vision for boxes, he tears them to pieces and uses them for stepping stones on the path of creation. What remains in his wake is a road paved with the broken remains of the synthesizers he's destroyed to create a world of untouched soundscapes and a fat stack of bass riding the harmonies he's created with them. 

His newest EP, Owl Eyes does Grime with style as the title track opens with a heavy hitting stomp machine following tripped out tonality and vocal cuts. 'Wibble Dribble' then builds an ominous tension before bringing the wobble back in style before 'Hater Blockerz' takes twisted metal and rap through a Trap Machine. 'Purp' then takes the Trap even further with a little extra Grime on top before 'Dreams Collide' finishes off the EP with a high energy, bass fuelled joy ride through some smooth and dreamy atmospheres. This one's for those who like to get real low and play in the dirt real slow.

The uniquely beautiful creations these two were destined to create upon getting together should pretty much be the obvious conclusion and we are on it like black on goths.

Their new EP, Sunday Vibes, spells itself out as the title track opens with a slow slide into the post weekend's peaceful tranquility with sweeping pads, chords, and a dab of gentle vocal reminders over a soothing saxophone. 'One Wish Left' then takes us up on a celestial journey through angelic vocal messages across a tapestry of radiant atmospheres before glitching it all out over a rolling 808 as the vocals guide the EP to a finish. A truly sublime addition to anyone's music collection and an easy listening treat, any day of the week.
