Tommy Holohan and Casper Hastings are two young producers residing from the small island, Ireland. Taking the reigns on the debut release for Rave Selekts the two guys range from heavy pounding industrial techno to jungle & hardcore influenced techno. Brisbane based ambassadors of genre fusing techno X CLUB. make their anticipated EP debut with ’SCUM’. Shifting between hasty breaks and propulsive 4/4 kicks, the EP focuses upon a definitive neo-futuristic rave sound inspired by a combination of 90s rave, jungle, electro and warehouse techno. Amongst clear hints of nostalgic influence, X CLUB. have involved a quantitive level of abrasive digital and analogue sound design in sculpting their signature techno-grime texture. Featuring four dynamic heaving club cuts, ‘SCUM’ explores tones of darkness while inducing a trance-like sense of euphoria. Blasts of contorted synth tones rage against mechanic percussive rhythms manifesting the scene of a dystopian industrial rave set neither in the past nor future.

‘SCUM’ is officially set for release on July 2nd via Earthed.

Asquith returns to his self-titled imprint following a couple of external EP announcements for Who's Susan and Private Persons.

Rave Til Dawn EP sees the London-based artist follow up the massive 'Let Me EP' with another clutch of takes on anthemic, big-room techno.

The title track Rave Til Dawn does everything a Let Me followup should do; huge compressed kicks, reverberating piano stabs and epic call-out vocals all collide on an absolute monster A-side. Second track 'Down' traces a more tool-y techno line. Rolling with the percussion and popping with mechanic energy. It's all compiled with elements of the original techno template shot through with a ton of UK bass weight.

‘Crush’ takes Asquith's manic monotone stab template into more techy territory, opening the production up and leading us into a cocoon of pressurised space. Stripped back but still crushing. Final track 'LCD Steppin'' sees us entering back into pacier territory that regularly pops up at the end of Asquith EPs. Shifting pad samples overlay a rickety jungle break and a voice calling at us to "Step!", before we're hoofed into the long grass with a 4/4 kick all the way up at 155bpm. It's not quite 160 but that's what the pitch slider is for ;)
