Vromo discovered techno through clubbing, but when the pandemic hit, his source for techno was shut off. This is when he picked up DJ’ing. While digging deeper into the genre, he found that old school techno fits his taste the best. Being drawn more to music which is only available on vinyl, Vromo figured he needed a pair of turntables and started collecting records. Now he’s pushing the groovy analogue sound by dusting off records from a forgotten era.

'Bruecke Invites' is a vinyl only podcast series that will be uploaded every six weeks. With this series, Bruecke puts a spotlight on artists that practice the old school turntable craft.

Ø [Phase] presents Toru Katsuta - ‘Phenomena’ EP for the third release on his Modwerks imprint.

“I first encountered Toru upon exiting a Tokyo DJ both one evening. He was waiting patiently to pass me a CD of his work along with a polite, hand-written note.
The tracks had a uniqueness and an appealing futuristic feel, and thus a few of them became regular fixtures in my DJ sets” ~ Ø [Phase]

It was through this initial exposure that Japanese native Toru Katsuta came also to the attention of Charlie M Duff (AKA Matrixxman) and his music gained further broadcasting 
(featuring in various podcasts and DJ performances). This eventually lead to an invitation in 2021 to remix for the also up-and-coming Alarico on Matrixxman’s The Grid label.

4 dance floor cuts bookended by 2 sci-fi excursions, ‘Phenomena’ EP represents a long overdue showcase of Mr Katsuta's futuristic sound.
