A name that many have been eagerly anticipating the next moves of, Dahu, has finally shrugged off his elusiveness and stepped out of the shadows. Emerging onto the scene with his much accredited debut EP ‘Deep in the Woods’, the young artist has set high standards for himself and looks set push off even further within the scene with his latest EP ‘North’. 

‘North‘ is a dark, moody affair that features two originals and a remix from Nick Devon each screaming with attitude. 

Title track ‘North’ upholds the feeling of the EP, full of energy and yet enigmatic in its dark undertones. Haunting synth lines circulate around a bellowing bassline, whilst glass bells and falling keys give added texture and atmosphere to this murky tale. 

Nick Devon steps up with his take on ‘North, with a remix that sharpens the elements of the original. Expertly balanced kickdrums lay against finely tuned hi-hats to give this remix a more classic house vibe. 

Closing the book is ‘How Do They Know’, a delicately deep track that seals the deal at the end of the night. Backed by a structured bassline that sits below sub, synth stabs become more and more melodic whilst strong piano chords fuel the emotion.

In the blink of an eye Steyoyoke finds itself approaching its second birthday. A lot has changed since the label first emerged on the scene and tremendous strides have been taken in becoming a label to reckoned with on the scene. In mark of such efforts the label has put together its second Anniversary EP, featuring four remixes from four top artists on some of the labels highlights of the last year.

All tracks will be available on vinyl from the 14th of February and in digital on the 10th of March with the additional Pete Oak Dub Remix of ‘Play Again’. The 14th of March will see the label hitting Ritter Butzke to celebrate their second birthday coinciding with the release of the Anniversary EP. All featuring artists will be playing their part in showing that there is still plenty more to come from Steyoyoke.

TAKiN - Circus (Goga G Remix)

this set was recorded live at CODA, one of the largest and premium nightclubs in downtown Toronto.  10pm-1am set time, opening up the night for the super talented Matt Lange.  Event was hosted by FLOH Entertainment, one of the most prominent event organizing groups in Toronto.

The first half of this set is much mellower, as the night was just beginning, but by the 2nd half of the set, the mood has been set and the party has begun :)I have also filmed the entire set, will be sync'ing the audio to the video and will upload it to my youtube page.  https://youtu.be/9gCjYnGaswU

TAKiN Live At CODA  (Jan 10 2016)

your listening to a live recorded set from CODA night club, one of Toronto's premium dance and techno venues.  Recorded on  Saturday Jan 16 2016 for the Concept launch event hosted by FLOH Entertainment.  Big thank you to the entire Coda and FLOH team for putting together such an amazing night.  Thanks to Alec Luna for the awesome photos of the night.

Now a little about this set: so Coda is known for being an awesome techno club, and my set time was a 1:30-3am headliner slot, so I felt like I had to bring it, and bring it hard I did.  With that in mind, this set probably a harder set then you'r used to hearing from me, yet it is stuff that I love to play and the the club banging to.

Also a big thank you to all my fans and friends who came out for this event, it was so great to see so many familiar faces at this venue.

TAKiN @ Hive (Solstice Festival 2017)

the magical place along Moon River (ontario) that is known as the Boreal Canoe Trip when 300 or so paddle on to the Canadian Shield and camp out in a forest known for its high population of rattle snakes.   It is probably the most Canadian experience as you can get, and it's one of the highlight of my annual festival circuit.

I had the pleasure of playing the opening And the closing set at this year's Boreal trip.  Here is what I played 4-5am to close off the night just in time for the sounds of nature take over at dusk.
