Recently formed from a number of high caliber bands, Mama are dedicated to reproducing the sights and sounds of a high octane contemporary Genesis rock concert with great musicianship and a full light show. The music selection features the classic material from the full history of the band.

The sky is the limit for this band and whilst the setlist is still in a state of transition, you can interact with the band on this website (which includes a forum) and let them know which of your favourites, obscure or popular you want them to play for you.

Mama contains a host of musicians from Merseyside and Bolton areas. They are led by frontman and lead vocalist John Wilkinson, highly acclaimed for his ability to deliver on the Phil Collins vocal sound of Genesis with power, passion and total precision. On keyboards, the band benefits from the technical wizardary of John Comish. Stunning guitars are provided by Chris O’Connell or Mark Comish, backed up with the rock solid technical playing of James Cooper on drums and Mark Conroy on bass.

As you’ve probably noticed, Mama is an ‘all era’ Genesis tribute band. To this end, we perform pieces from every era of Genesis from the early Peter Gabriel Genesis albums, right through the Phil Collins era in the 70s and 80s and up to the final Genesis studio album, We Can’t Dance.

There is also some consideration for music by Mike & The Mechanics, the Ray Wilson era of Genesis and some solo works by Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins.
