Hailing from Dallas, Texas, young DJ and producer Decoder specialises in minimalistic sounds with a sci-fi touch. Decoder’s musical upbringing in which he played the drums and became accustomed to rhythm has paved the way for his musical career. Decoder has already established his space within the scene, with his tracks being played by the likes of legends Jeff Mills and Richie Hawtin. His tracks have been released on notable labels such as AMTK+ and Molecular. 

Buckle up for a mesmerising two hours of Decoder.

Vault Sessions #220 - Decoder

This is an interesting turn musically for Identity Theft, it is probably the first time I have heard of atmospheric electro. Obviously there are other artists that could be counted into that genre, but it is the first time I have heard of it. Solid oldschool rhythmic electro meets the more atmospheric elements of genres like darkwave and coldwave according to Repartiseraren. Especially towards the middle and end of the track the atmospheric elements kick off for real.

There are of course hints of other genres within the music as well. A really interesting release, we're proud to exclusively premiere "Magic Mirror" a track from the forthcoming "Magic Mirror EP" out on Katabatik on the 31st of October. We thank Katabatik for this opportunity and of course Identity Theft, we're looking forward to future collaborations.

"Identity Theft returns to Katabatik with “Magic Mirror” EP, an addendum to last years “Omnia Vanitas” album , released on vinyl via Oraculo Records.The 4 songs here, originally composed for a few live shows in 2022/23, could be loosely categorized as atmospheric electro.Title track “Magic Mirror” juxtaposes Mandela effect and Q-Anon theory (via Snow White) to create a statement that transcends the worldly concerns of each. “Only Death” reasserts the Hellhammer-derived black metal mantra within an electrofunk paradigm, détourning it into a morbid banger, with additional commentary from William S. Burroughs. “Climb Off It” leads the listener through twists and turns- before winding up in The Twilight Zone “After Hours” mannequin lounge. Closing track “Fire” reinterprets Sister Irene O’Connor’s classic song, warming cold hearts with dubbed out melancholy"

Timnah lives in Northwestern Switzerland, where she also feeds the local cats. Raised in jazz clubs and influenced by dub and soundsystem culture, she began DJing after Y2K. Her sets blend 90s electronics, ambient techno, and jungle into immersive, half-time journeys. She’s part of Amenthia Recordings and the A Walking Contradiction Collective.
