"Speed Of Soul" is the first album from Mama's Boomshack. It was recorded in February 2014 at The Halo (Windham, ME) by producer Jonathan Wyman and mastered by Adam Ayan at Gateway Mastering (Portland, ME).

What the lovechild of James Brown and Sly Stone would've sounded like... a 7-piece funky soul music machine with a 4-piece horn section out front, male/female lead vocals, and a rhythm section with more kick than an ornery mule. We have been together since 2011 playing old-school funk and soul music like Maceo Parker, James Brown, Average White Band, Sly & The Family Stone, Stevie Wonder, Fred Wesley, Parliament/Funkadelic as well as new sounds from Soulive, Joss Stone, Lettuce, and the Bamboos. We're based out of Portland, Maine.
