MNR#07 MARTINELLI - SEM SONO 

For the 7th release in MAMBAREC we are excited to introduce the artist Martinelli in his debut EP "SEM SONO" (SLEEPLESS). 

Martinelli is the electronic alias of Henrique Martinelli, a young producer currently based in São Paulo. Through the use of synthesizers and drum machines and drawing from a wide spectrum of colors and timbers that manage to mix his main influences ranging from breakbeat to techno, to electro and even a little garage, Martinelli cooks up a raw and erratic sound filled with restless and provocative energy. 

There's a characteristically coarse trait exuding from "SEM SONO" that brings forth the producer´s obsession for digging deep into the classic machinery associated with electronic music production, such as the 303, 808, 909, DX7, whilst imparting them with a newly found sense of contemporary raggedness, a kind of resignification that manages to throw the familiar into torn territories. 

The A-side kicks off with two rugged electro numbers fit for dancefloor carnage that lead to the more skeletal and techno oriented "Constant Movement" while the B-side gets rolling with the breakbeat-flavored “Rude” followed by the acidic and teeth grinding “Not in da Mood" taking us all the way to the gloomy and impenetrable rendition that is the closer “NOISEY”.

Sua pesquisa musical pretere o techno, o industrial, dark eletro mesclando com elementos do funk e sons de jogos eletrônicos. Enquanto músico faz incursões na música programada, na música concreta e na produção beats, imergindo em paisagens sonoras distópicas com o projeto de dark theremin @silacrvs

Lagoeiro é DJ residente e um dos organizadores da MASTERp l a n o, que há cinco anos promove atividades culturais relacionadas à música eletrônica em Belo Horizonte; e também um dos criadores da plataforma A-MIG, que coleciona e transmite experimentos sonoros de artistas emergentes de todo o mundo. Ianzona, por sua vez, é a manifestação musical de Ian Godoi, multi artista radicado em Belo Horizonte e que recentemente tem explorado a música eletrônica como ferramenta para compartilhar sua forma de ver e agir no mundo, por meio de DJ sets e experimentos autorais. Lagoeiro & Ianzona se conheceram em uma rave em 2018 em Belo Horizonte e desde então têm compartilhado a casa, conhecimentos e processos artísticos. Já se juntaram para muita coisa, mas essa foi a primeira vez em um B2B, exclusivamente na ¼ FEST, palco Techno, no dia 23/05/20 #vemsemvir

Lagoeiro is a resident DJ and one of the organizers of collective MASTERplano, which has been promoting cultural activities related to electronic music in Belo Horizonte, Brazil; and also one of the creators of the A-MIG platform, which collects and broadcasts sound experiments by emerging artists from around the world. Ianzona is the musical manifestation of Ian Godoi, a multi-artist based in Belo Horizonte and who has recently explored electronic music as a tool to share his way of seeing and acting in the world, through DJ sets and author experiments. Both have met at a rave in 2018 and since then they have shared the same house, thoughts and artistic processes. They’ve done a lot, but this was the first time that the two got together in a B2B, exclusive for ¼ FEST, Techno Stage, on 05/23/20 #comewithoutcoming

- [ ] 3 instâncias é o primeiro álbum do projeto NOG4YRA, por Una Nogueira, trans não binário, criado na região metropolitana de Porto Alegre. Estudante de psicologia, dj e produtor, a obra foi fruto de um mergulho em estudos pessoais na intenção de uni-lo ao processo criativo da produção musical. Trabalhou sob o olhar das 3 instâncias psíquicas ~ o id, o ego e o superego, para que houvesse um movimento para além do som, como uma união de diferentes atmosferas num mesmo espaço de tempo, representando o resultado de sua pesquisa de visões interdisciplinares da trajetória de sua persona. Baterista desde criança, procura trabalhar com baterias marcantes e synths envolventes, convidando o ouvinte a entrar em um cenário caótico e repleto de vertentes pulsionais.

Psychology student, DJ, and producer, the work was the result of a plunge into personal studies with the intention of uniting him to the creative process of music production. He worked under the gaze of the 3 psychic instances ~ the id, the ego, and the superego, so that there was a movement beyond the sound, as a union of different atmospheres in the same space of time, representing the result of his research of interdisciplinary visions of the trajectory of your persona. A drummer since he was a child, he tries to work with striking drums and involving synths, inviting the listener to enter a chaotic scenario and full of pulsating strands.
