A very beautiful piece! Very nice harmonies and very emotionally played!

When Tom approached me with this piano melody, the initial arrangement and the title to which he hoped I’d add lyrics and vocals, I thought it was almost unnecessary as the piece already said everything required. Shortly afterwards, Jussi had added sublime guitar which offered a hopeful balance in the mood. Knowing what Tom was referring to without discussing it openly I wrote these words from a similar position of experience. I contrasted the first verse of a woman at her peak with the second verse of a woman in decline to heighten the emotion. I found that the spoken word approach allowed more emotion to flow from both the music and the words. Tom had the great idea to ask Hidefumi to complete the song with a phenomenal solo. Thank you to everyone who helped make this come together, and a very special thanks to all of you for listening.

The Tree Of Souls ....

This song I wrote a very long time ago, one of my early songs, I was in my 20's and into Hard Rock like Zeppelin, Floyd, Queen, etc, etc.I rerecorded it during the pandemic around 2020. It's a bit dark about a guy that broke-up with his girlfriend and was calling her just to hear her voice again. Her voice alone gives him the courage to face the future and pulls him out of his depression. His life is pretty  bleak filled with partying too much, constant drinking and blackouts. In the end, her voice alone saves him and the song ends in an uplifting and hopeful fashion. It's a dark love story, not one of my usual happy go lucky songs. The video added a twist with a man listening to this conversations and taping them for some reason. Maybe FBI or police? I don't know, I just threw it in! It shows people partying and waking up on strange floors. The video is brand new, just finished it last week. I began composing music after reading 'Anti-Oedipus' by Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari. I do not claim to know whether the book 'caused' the music. And if it did, I do not claim to know why. All I claim to know, is that I was there when it happened. Whether I (or the book) had anything to do with it, is anyone's guess.
