Weather Man and Birds and Bees, were written thirty five years apart with the same sentiment and we have still done bugger all about it... The next thirty five years and it will be too late.

BIrDs And BeEs

Written by Leiber & Stoller, It was initially recorded by R&B duo, Willy & Ruth, in 1954, then by Elvis in  1956. The genius of Lieber's lyrics were that they usually finished early leaving room for theatrics, something Elvis excelled in.

Treat Me Like A Fool (Leiber & Stoller)

This is another “folk" approach to a cover song, in this case an all-time Motown favorite originally popularized by a 1968 collaboration of the Supremes and the Temptations (written by Gamble & Huff and Jerry Ross). Hard to match the vocal excellence of those two awesome groups but I just put a spin on it to channel the awesome emotive nature of the song. Got a little out of my comfort zone but for a base file done on my iPhone and with some grand help from my partner in music, Nat Daniels (piano & bass & production), I like the outcome.

'The Single End' is a Jazz Fusion track and was inspired by the happy memories from my past in 1974. Just having returned to Scotland after a Year working in England and having very little money, I had to rent a single room in a Paisley tenement. This was called 'a single end'. It was extremely basis with the toilet shared amongst three flats on the same level. However I was sharing the 'single end' with my girlfriend, and although times were tough, we were always really happy. That girlfriend was to become my wife one year later and we are still together 50 years later.
So 'The Single End' is a commemoration to the joyful time we spent together in that small single room..
Also to offer my condolences on the passing of one of the great guitarists of our time, Jeff Beck. He will be remembered along with the other greats of his era. R.I.P
