As a result of these modern times, I've decided to release these "new" old songs that have been collecting digital dust on a number of hard drivers for over 8 years.

During my time on the planet I've created well over 1 thousand tracks. This music has never seen the light of day for many reasons: opinions, changes in technology, damaged hard drives...fear.

This EP contains a few tracks that were recorded between 2012 and 2014. The titles can let you know where my head and heart were at the time.

These are all demo's, not finished pieces… But… They'd never get finished today, so here they are.

Dear music lover,

I've made a lot of music over the years. I've had the privilege of working with a wide variety of people, some famous and some not so famous, but all extremely talented. This album features some of my favorite creations from nearly two decades ago.

At that time in my life, I learned that things don't just happen to you. You have to do something. You have to put things out there. Take action and by acting you never know what will happen, if anything will happen at all.

Some of these recordings were released independently in the early 2000's and some have never been released to the public in any way. Today, I have the opportunity to share these recordings, which represent an audible snapshot of the past, with the entire world.

Recording these songs changed my life in many ways. I wish I recorded more music with many of these artists. I hope you enjoy this phase of my creative journey.

ABOUT THE TIMELESS SERIES

Recently, I went through a lot of old hard drives and rediscovered over 150 songs, tracks, demos and ideas recorded over a period of two decades. I decided I would release them in volumes called, Timeless.

VSCO 23.5: Kyoto strives to convey the meeting of the ultra ancient with the ultra modern. According to Alan, the director of the film: 

“I've been planning to shoot this exact story ever since I moved to Kyoto... I see this ﬁlm as a ﬁlm not only for VSCO, but for Japan. A ﬁlm that brings a balance of nostalgia and contemporary critique... I have assembled a team of voices to help me strengthen not only a sublime visual account but a unique and philosophical one.”

I have always dreamed of traveling to Japan since I was a child. By the time I was in high school, I was highly intrigued by the culture and deep philosophical nature of life there. Now, years later, I have yet to set foot in the country and these pieces are like letters to a city I have longed to experience.

I am proud to be one of the many wonderful voices who contributed to this project. One day, I won't have to write a letter.

Letters to Kyoto also contains a couple of tracks that I submitted, but did not make the soundtrack.
