OBOST is the Electronic/ Indie Dance brainchild of Bobby Langfield. His debut EP “I Don’t Care for You” released on NEIN in 2023. “Er..Hello?” is his debut Album released in Jan 2024, while only 16 years old! Bobby produced the entire album over 18 months, fusing electronic and analog sounds across a mix of genres. Bobby is a classically-trained musician, multi-instrumentalist and performer.

Inspired by the sounds of the '80s gay club scene for this mix, she combines bombastic Italo disco synths and percussive hi-NRG stabs with an undercurrent of freestyle, EBM and New Beat. Nodding to the modern indie dance scene bringing these sounds back to life for new audiences, old-school edits are mixed with future classics

Next up in the Sinchi & Friends series is @man2point0 , we first connected with Mark earlier this year when he sent some of his music, we were immediately big fans and delighted to see them picked up by the fantastic Nein Records soon after (Coming very soon).  Enjoy a top mix with perhaps our favourite intro to date...

1) Introduce yourself?

Mark Bailey- Educator, bleep merchant, terrible drinking buddy. An old hat sometimes mistaken for a new kid on the block.

2) How would you describe your sound?

Consumerist techno, EBM, Dark Disco, there are plenty of names you could give it but I try to avoid the term 'chug'. It sounds like a drinking game... Or the breed of my dog. If the sound were an image it would probably be a H.R Giger painting reimagined by Caspar David Friedrich.
 
3) What are your plans for 2016?

Make music, vote in the referendum, raise my boy and bring another into the world with the lovely wife. I have two eps forthcoming on Nein round about August and a few remixes forthcoming as well, if only I could just finish them!

They also nailed a weird and wonderful remix of Phantasy’s own Future Four (a creative partnership between Erol Alkan and The Emperor Machine founder, Andy Meecham), which has become a go-to selection for the likes of Gerd Janson.

Consisting of the acid-tinged dream team of Iain Bogg and Matthew Waites, both of whom have been DJing for decades, the music of Dark Circles is a case study in the power of acid techno, with shades of Chicago jack and even the vintage days of proper proggy house.
