A native of the Pacific Northwest, Manatee Commune (Grant Eadie) has built a sound, vibe and presence in his music that oozes the surroundings he grew up with as a child. Inspired by his fondest lifelong memories, as well as the beautiful sights, sounds and smells of some of the most breathtaking landscapes America has to offer, Manatee Commune has released his first single of 2019. “My Dearest Friend” is out everywhere on Friday, January 18th on Bastard Jazz Recordings. 

“Nostalgia drives a lot of my music making and this track is kind of the culmination of my dearest childhood memories. Those flashbacks of sparkly, sun soaked afternoons spent running through sprinklers in my neighbors front yard, and the whole weekends taken up by exploring my grandparents’ densely forested property with my best friend. This is one of the few tracks I’ve made that actually captures those moments and I’m pumped to share it with the world.” - Manatee Commune

2019 is poised to be the year Manatee Commune joins the ranks as a major electronic breakout act. Having already received the stamp of approval from fellow Pacific Northwesterners ODESZA and Emancipator on their respective tours and performing alongside others including Slow Magic and Blockhead, Manatee Commune is gearing up for the release of his Sophomore LP to reach a much larger audience. Currently, Manatee Commune is back in his newly renovated studio in Portland, Oregon, working on material for the upcoming album, and is more motivated than ever to raise the bar for what fans can expect from his music and live show.

“I’m excited to be back in the studio and exploring new sounds, getting messy with some new audio samples and field recordings. I’m looking to capture the emotions & feelings I want to feel all the time; sunlight, the smell of rain, dewey grass and untouched snow. Hopefully, everything will translate with the aid of some new interactive visuals, fresh instrumentation and some straight, groovy dance moments.” - Manatee Commune
