Back to the scene of the panic attack, another year older, bolder, wiser and yet still aware I’m barely scratching the surface of what’s possible in this space

Wholeheartedly welcomed the change of season and loved the winter fashunnnn expressions roving around like free range art on display to the world

What an honour and privilege it is to be able to gather, to dance, to play, to smile, to bypass small talk entirely and get straight to the good stuff! The banter flows effortlessly into philosophy pausing only for puns or taking off on tangents led by curiosity or passion 

We have evolved to be playful by nature, that is exactly how we learn best from childhood as we develop our cognition, motor skills and sense of the world around us but all the way into adulthood it’s how we bond with other humans, unwind and manage stress

To receive the benefits of play we need to be in a relaxed state and there is nothing I find more soul nourishing than being out amongst nature surrounded by hundreds or even thousands of others who heard the same calling

The evolution continues...as does the rain!

Opening night at Wonky Town was a vibe and a half, the space was a wonderland begging everyone to come play full to the brim with games, interactive installations, a cosy lamp lit lounge and all sorts of other shenanigans 

It was an honour and a privilege to play on a purpose built stage compliments of the festival and Fulcrum Designs in lieu of Sheila no longer being with us - May she forever rest in bass...

Also worth noting for full transparency and celebration of my musical journey that it was my first time performing live directly on the decks sans laptop and controller which was a whole new world in terms of convenience but all wrapped up in the kinda nerves I thought were behind me

Looking forward to continuing the learning process, experimenting with the weaving and manipulating of sound drawing inspiration from those in the know around me and as always with the highest level of gratitude and respect for the original creators

Kiwiburn 2023 - After Caberet 2am at Swing Fling

Never Stop Dancing is a mix series focused on amplifying house, disco, and techno. Through the mix series I aim to highlight the creative  expressions of the talented up and coming as well as established DJs and producers in the Kootenays and the surrounding areas of BC. The mix series is dedicated to the four to the floor lovers who may often find themselves the first or last two-steppin' on the dance floor. To those who find that movement is an essential expression of life, love, and joy. To those who find that connecting with others through movement is a process of liberation and a building block of our community. To those who get moved by the music, a language that we speak that emanates from the depths in our hearts and souls. Sunny Acres is musician, producer and Dj, Chris Francis. From an eclectic mix of wonderfully crafted original rhythms, basslines and melodies to great tracks from around the world, Sunny Acres weaves a sonic fabric of acoustic and electronic music. He is a local Kootenay producer and DJ, all-around stand-up guy, most humble DJ, and my brother from another mother. I don't remember when I first met Chris, but I know his distinctive style of deep and chugging house is what drew me to him. Since knowing him, I've had the pleasure of having him play at my events and we've danced many nights away. Keep your eyes on his Soundcloud as he'll be releasing his first LP this spring. This mix is a colourful tapestry of tasteful selections thoughtfully weaved together. I appreciate the deep basslines and heartfelt vocals that pull me into the story he tells. I love his mixing style that blends layers of each song so seamlessly that one cannot tell where one begins and where the next one starts. Never Stop Dancing // 4 // Sunny Acres

Here it is team, the long-awaited new content from Benthamism ❤️ This is the set from the Laundry stage at Cuba Dupa festival, And with it being around a year since Laundry was closed due to a stubborn landlord the celebration was mighty, Held in a back ally with the big Swampshack Soundsystem and laundry dressing everyone was bouncing, hooting and tooting. 
The set captures most of the variety of the summer tour and a lot of my favorite artists hope you enjoy it tho a bit scruffy around the edges after a massive day playing with Breaking Beats and doing this closing set with no real plan but to follow the untitled vibe in the space, I feel this is my style and I'm running with it perfecting it. This was one of my AV sets and have figured a way to record the video hit me with some comments if you'd like to see that.
Big ups to the laundry crew and Laundry Matt on the mic, Craig, Chung, and the silent partners like everyone that ever made laundry the vibe it was now let's move forward and make some more magic! 🪄

Laundry Back Alley Bonanza @ Cuba Dupa Festival 2023

This is a mix dedicated to a beautiful friend who recently moved away from Nelson to the coast. The dance floor is where we met and our friendship grew into brotherhood. So grateful for all the groovin' we've squeezed into the time we've known each other. C-love LOVES the bangers, so this one is a lil' rowdy.
