Kicking off Poker Flat's 20th anniversary series of remixes, Tim Engelhardt drops two sublime re-interpretations of Berkson & What's classic cut Keep On featuring vocals from the legendary Robert Owens.  

With a back catalogue that spans over more than 300 releases it's no surprise that many Poker Flat tracks have remained club and DJ staples to this day, so to celebrate the anniversary the label hand picked a number of key records for a remix 
treatment. 

Here, Tim Englehardt launches the series in typically exemplary fashion with two intricate, emotionally-charged and utterly compelling remixes. 

As one of Cologne’s youngest and brightest electronic music stars, Tim has become a key player in the Poker Flat family over the last few years, releasing a slew of incredible singles and EPs, not to mention his debut album 'Moments Of Truth' in 2017. Since then he has grown in stature to become one of the most respected producers on the circuit. 

His first remix is a slow-burning, broken beat re-imagining, with gently undulating synths, dramatic chords and ethereal pads providing a hypnotic base over which Owens vocal works its magic. 

With his other remix, Engelhardt retains many of the elements of the former version but this time employs a more traditional 4/4 structure, adding a slow-burning tension with dramatic pads, dreamy synth stabs and glistening keys.

Every now and again we feel the need to take a slight turn from our regular release territories. Step forward Runaway Orchestra with a self-titled debut album; a collection of ten cover songs that feature the beautiful vocals of Sophie Madeleine.

Across it’s ten tracks, ‘Runaway Orchestra’ offers crafted cover versions each with a fresh folk twist. 

Opening with The Turtles 1967 hit, ‘Happy Together’, re-worked as a delicate love song, the track flows with lush string arrangements and Sophie’s warm and inviting voice.  Further highlights on the album include a stunning cover of Wolfman and Pete Doherty’s 2004 indie success ‘For Lovers’, which keeps the original’s melancholy undercurrents whilst injecting a more upbeat and brighter mood with its careful instrumentation. Cher and Sonny’s ‘The Beat Goes On’ is transformed into a gentler number with subtle drum arrangements and interplay between Madeleine’s singing and the lead melody. Also on the album is a memorable cover of Bob Dylan’s ‘If Not For You’, where Madeleine’s voice hypnotises the listener with its subtle pitches and gentle folk melodies.

Repeat Productions is currently a non profit production company set up by Sam Kilbride and Matt Walsh to help promote local musicians, singers and song writers. Sam has experience in music production, He not only makes his own digital music,  he also knows how to set up a live recording session and also is very nifty on Logic, where he masters the tracks. Matt has experience in animation, Editing, VFX and film making. Together they make Repeat Productions. Currently they are making live videos of local artists in Ashford, Kent, and hope to expand to eventually make produced music videos.
