This is the first song I ever put on SoundCloud and I just wanted to give it some new life because I believe that every day is an opportunity to get up and be grateful for the life you have and make space for the things that you want in your life :)

My son inspired this song before the pandemic one morning when he did not want to get out of bed and go to school. Now that we have been in lock down for way too long, he is begging to just go back to school in a regular classroom. And so am I. 

But I will show gratitude for what we have. We are safe and healthy and that is something to celebrate :)

This song was written after I had a conversation with my Dad about some stuff I am dealing with at the moment and I said "don't let the rest bring you down" about not letting all the troubling stuff in life stop me from making it out of a bad situation with my head held high. My dad told me I needed to write a song  with those words, so I just wrote the phrase down and let it go until I had time to think about it. And sure enough later that afternoon I was able to turn it into a song. I told my pal The Junez about it and he said let's collaborate on it. I couldn't pass up the chance to create more. Why you ask, cuz The Junez is quite the talent. He took the demo I created that evening and created the instrumental masterpiece (bass, guitar, drums, synth, more keys) with only a hint of keys from me that I was able to go nuts on it to record the vocal tracks. Then he mixed and mastered all of this over the last few days. 

He makes it too easy for me to share my song ideas with the world so I won't ever stop sharing my music with him.  

All of this is created because I use music to heal and I hope that it helps you get through a tough spot too. Don't let your tough moments take you down to the depths of depression. Find a way to pull yourself back up and keep moving forward :)

Here is song 18 from Hurtful Junez and I. I almost didn't post it, but The Junez was the sunshine I needed to make this song come together. I wrote this song and The Junez started with adding drums and then a bass line then synth, I think some guitar too and mixed and mastered it for me. Really couldn't ask for a better collaborator or friend for that matter. Almost a year since we started creating music together and I don't know how I would have made it through this year without being able to create  this music.  So I have to give a big thanks to him for keeping me going when things got really tough.

It's not always easy to see the good, especially when you've been in a dark place for a long time. But there are signs out there that good things are on the way. It's all in the way you look at things. Can you see the sunshine in the darkest places? When you can start to see it is when you know you're on your healing journey :) I wrote this song on a day when I actually saw sunshine on a rainy day and it made me so happy to see it and it helped me to see that good things were happening in my life even when I am struggling with a lot of unknowns and ups and downs that are not part of my regular everyday life. I wrote this song to remind me how far I have come and to see the good place that I am in now and that there are fears that I can let go of now. I hope that this can give you hope too that those days are coming your way too. You're never alone. Reach out!!! Never suffer in silence.  You are loved.

This imagining turned into such a fun piece thanks to Hurtful Junez instrumentation (Bass, Guitar, Synth and Percussion), sound effects, mix and master. I thought this up after someone unwanted started to creep around me again and again. I will not be hiding in silence and that is my advice to anyone who has someone around them trying to cause a little fright in them. Do not fear. This is your reminder. You know who they are. I wrote this song back in April 2021 when we were back in lock down and I was feeling disconnected from the world. Interestingly enough, I was called to revisit this when out of nowhere I lremembered it this week after being stuck home due to Covid in my daughters class. Luckily she stayed healthy , but it reminded me that we all play a part in keeping each other safe in this world by taking care of ourselves, each other and the planet we live in.

Long story short I needed music to help me through this and The Junez stepoed up to help put it all together after I created a demo for him. He added so much to this including bass, guitar, drums as well as a mix and master. I am really proud of this piece.

We're back with one more after so so long. I couldn't tell you what number this is for me and Hurtful Junez, but I just love creating music with this talented man :)
