Who else sounds like Larry Heard? In the late 1980s, The Chicago house producer was one of the first artists – initially as a part of Fingers, Inc., and then as a solo act – to truly stamp their own unique aesthetic onto the nascent style of electronic dance music. Favouring lush instrumentation, foggy chords and dreamy melodies over the more mechanic pounding of many of his counterparts, he inspired the "deeper" sounds of the midwest's second wave, and generations of young clubbers elsewhere around the world.

fabi0la (Fabiola Belaen) is a DJ and producer based in Ann Arbor, MI. She is currently president of U of M’s Michigan Electronic Music Collective (MEMCO), a student organization which has funneled DJs and producers into the wider world of dance music for over 13 years. Fabiola grew in the metro Detroit area listening to hip hop, soul, & RnB, greatly influenced by American black female artists such as Lauryn Hill, Mary J. Blige, & Erykah Badu. Fabiola developed a taste for electronic music in her early teens by attending Detroit’s Movement festival. Her style shifts from warped soundscapes to acid techno, electro & DnB.
