Safari Bomb - River Tone



This is probably the most personal and serious song I’ve ever released. There’s no fictional story here—this track is about real experiences with past relationships and friendships that ended in betrayal or being left behind. Originally, I wrote this song with a collaborator who recently parted ways due to major political differences. He chose to step away, but I kept some of his contributions in the final version because they fit the song so perfectly. I still respect the work we did together.
A lot of frustration and emotion went into writing this, especially as I’ve come to understand my own challenges, including struggling with oppositional defiant disorder (ODD). It’s made it difficult at times to express my thoughts without being misunderstood. I’ve never aimed to force my beliefs or opinions on anyone—I only wanted to share my perspective. But often, it felt like my voice wasn’t welcome.

I’m not here to turn this into a trauma dump. I just want to say: I know how it feels to be left behind, discarded, or forgotten. It hurts. If you’re going through something similar and need someone to lean on, I want to be that person for you. I care about people, and I value listening to their stories and being there for them. But if someone only wants to drag me down, I’ve learned I need to let them go—“erase” them from my mind. I can’t hold onto people who are only there to hurt me. I want to help, not be harmed.
That’s what this song means to me: a release, a personal reflection. And I’ll leave you with this thought—if you’re searching for love, God is love. If you’re searching for hope, Jesus is hope. I’m not here to push religion on anyone, only to share that there is a God who loves and cares for you. Glory to God for getting me out of my depression!
