PREMIERE: Danvers - Angel Break [SlothBoogie]

After a brief hiatus, the SlothBoogie Records crew are back with an exceptional label debut from Danvers. You may know him as one half of UK duo ‘Kassian’ who have previously released on SB, but here he flies solo with 4 tracks of expertly produced electronic, acid washed breaks.

Whether it be the liquid tinged euphoria of ‘Angel Break’, the speaker wobbling brute that is ‘YOU&ME’, the saturated acid warmth of ‘Heat’ or the otherworldly journey of ‘Distant Recalls’, this EP is the mark of someone who is a master of their craft and poised to heavily influence the sound of clubs with his unmistakable style.

Rounding off the EP is LA native and underground House devotee Juliet Mendoza who re-shapes ‘YOU&ME’ into a thumping 4/4 workout, primed for the late hours when the strobes come out.

‘Can’t Tell Me Nothing’ starts off with some familiar drum patterns that quickly get beefed up to underpin the gliding organ chords and synth top lines creating a tough jam for the clubs. ‘Nonchalant’ chops in some classic vocal snippets over softer harmonies backed up by Lavan’s rough and ready drum programming and deep sub notes. ‘Heard You Was A Freak’ rounds the whole EP off with cruising deep chords, dreamy melodies, clever vocal sampling and yet more classic H.O.U.S.E basslines."

Philippa's previous ‘Rainy Nights’ EP went down a storm on @slothboogie Records, so of course the crew got to work with lining up another one as soon as possible.

Currently Berlin based but New Zealand born, Philippa's next EP is called ‘Port Chalmers’ which is named after the little Port Town in NZ that is close to her heart.

Wether it’s the Rhodes heavy grooves of ‘Better World’, the driving dancefloor focused 'Runaway', the beating jazzy soul of ‘Lot To Learn’ or the romantic harmonies and seagulls of ‘Port Chalmers'. We’ve been huge fans of Pacific Coliseum for a long time, so we’re very proud to present an EP with him on SB and who better to introduce the release than the man from Vancouver himself... 'After four years, it feels amazing to return to my Pacific Coliseum project with the Breeze FM EP. This record came together in a really beautiful, collaborative way, between myself and the SlothBoogie crew. I sent over a handful of demos, and together we compiled and developed this record, which feels both fresh and true to the sound of my previous releases. I wanted to have the record bounce around a bit in terms of tempos and feels: Wine Host has a nice sunset, downtempo feel; Breeze FM taps into a deeper, jazzier sound; Feel Free is a peak time Italo jam. Something for everyone! The whole thing is rounded off with Tech Support’s remix of Feel Free, which re-imagines the tune as an electro stomper. I’ve got a lot planned for this project in the year to come, and this feels like the perfect way to reintroduce myself to people.'

We’ve been huge fans of Pacific Coliseum for a long time, so we’re very proud to present an EP with him on @slothboogie and who better to introduce the release than the man from Vancouver himself... 

'After four years, it feels amazing to return to my @pacific-coliseum project with the Breeze FM EP.
