Mod3rn is the powerful alliance of Electric Rescue, Kmyle, and Moteka—renowned figures in the French techno scene with a shared passion for pushing sonic boundaries. This trio merges their expertise into a single, dynamic entity, crafting an aesthetic rooted in improvisation and the raw energy of techno. Subtle keys, cosmic drones, subterranean rumbles, and rhythmical bursts intertwine seamlessly, producing a sound that is as diverse as it is forward-thinking. Kmyle, a familiar face to the MindTrip family, left an indelible mark with his recent contribution to our Mutable Minds compilation. Now, as part of Mod3rn, he joins forces with Electric Rescue and Moteka to deliver a release that embodies their vision of contemporary and ecstatic techno. With Cyclone Error EP, Mod3rn invites us to immerse ourselves in a maelstrom of sound, celebrating both the dynamism of the genre and their unyielding drive to innovate.

The debut release on Carícia Records sees longtime collaborators VIL and CRAVO refine the language they’ve developed through years of joint work, both individually and as members of the Hayes collective. Between them, their output on labels like Monnom Black, Klockworks, Self Reflektion and the aforementioned Hayes collective has consistently balanced precision with character, and this first chapter under their new imprint is no exception. Opening with SO RIGHT, the record sets a distinct tone, with rolling percussion and a hypnotic vocal line threading through the mix with restraint and control. 420%FODA leans into classic swing and texture, tightly looped and built for movement without ever overreaching. On the B-side, CRAVO oﬀers FUTUREDETROIT, a stripped-back piece with room to breathe, subtle in its shifts but firm in its intent. VIL rounds oﬀ the EP with HARD TO FIND, a playful closer that keeps things buoyant and dynamic, pushing forward without losing its shape. Carícia 001 is about clarity of purpose. No filler, no theatrics, just four tracks that speak for themselves.
