'INSIDE OUT' is an auditory exploration into what it is like to live with or be affected by mental health problems. Using interviews of 8 people I created a soundscape with the intention of provoking further conversation about mental health and the way it is currently addressed and approached in Britain circa 2015.

Having a diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder, I would consider myself to be an ‘expert by experience’ and the subject of mental health has been my focus in many of my projects. I am a third year drama student and hope to work creatively within the fields of Mental Health once I graduate. 

I hold the personal belief that in order for stigma surrounding mental health to be shifted, a conversation needs to be instigated between people on both sides of the ever-shifting spectrum, bringing together those who experience mental health problems- either personally or at close quarters – and practitioners or professionals within the field: as well as those people who are naive as to what the poor Mental Health even entails…
