Recorded live at Wire's last-ever DNB party, this set is pretty special to me. As a home for the best underground music in Leeds, this little basement has been the epicentre of Leeds' drum and bass history. Host to D.O.P.E in the club's earlier guise as Cafe Mex during the late 90s, it even broadcast legendary sets live on Radio 1's 1 in the Jungle show. It was the birthplace of Ant TC1's legendary Momentum sessions during its time as Think Tank, before undergoing its makeover into Wire where it welcomed Central Beatz, Radio Frequency, Overflow and many many more well-loved parties during the early days of dubstep, via UK Funky, Bass music and the incredible Hessle Audio and Rufige shows - with too many names and nights to mention, Wire will always be an unforgettable space. 

I had the great privilege of opening the night, with an hour-long set celebrating Momentum, where I formed lifelong friendships and built my career from having fun with like-minded people dancing to great music. 

I selected some of my fave soulful dnb tunes from the period, with special mention and solid inspiration from 3rd Generation Digital and MC JC, who would always open proceedings with showcases of the burgeoning golden era of liquid drum and Bass

Presenting an hour of massive tunes that I wouldn't usually combine, mixed with wide-eyed enthusiasm and love, interrupted by so many old faces invading the booth to say hi and share their excitement, that you might have to excuse the odd mix left in too long or cut out too quickly. It was such an emotional evening, as you might be able to pick up from the crowd noise still present on the mic. With a dancefloor full of proper heads, ready to go from early and even an unexpected reload before 11pm! Big shouts to my sparring partner LD for hosting and everyone who came down early to make it the night it was. 

A huge thanks to everyone who ever worked in, partied at, promoted a night or simply lost themselves to the music at our favourite space, Wire.
