Two decades ago, armed with a relic of a PC, FruityLoops, and Acid Pro, I boldly defied the status quo. Eminem's "Without Me," an audacious battle cry against his foes and a proclamation of his magnificence, both beckoned me to remix it. A fan myself, I faced a tide of disapproval, particularly from the gay community. "Rap doesn't go with house music," they said. "Eminem hates gays! Clubs won't touch this!" The criticism stung.

While I didn't condone Eminem's choice of words at times, I appreciated his tenacity in speaking his mind and thought he was talented. How could I pass up an acapella as I was experimenting with music? 

Dismissing the naysayers, I plunged head first into the remix, uncharted territory for hip-hop and house fusion. With Hex Hector's samples, a mosaic of percussion loops, and my compositional ingenuity, I aspired to marry the spirit of the '80s with Eminem's vocals, creating a sonic fusion like no other.

This mix is a tale of artistic rebellion, resilience, and musical marriage. Enjoy!
