@esthetique-lab return with their 3rd release and it doesn’t disappoint! 

There is a lot of exciting music and great artists coming out of Mexico at the moment and this release features one of the new contingent of producers making a name for themselves @Horreurhorreur  from Puebla.

 “Discìpulos” has a Egypto Techno style with a slice of Flamenco guitar creating a deep and mysterious vibe made for tripping out late night dancers. Featuring 2 killers remixes from Freudenthal and Daniel Kyo.

Each 3 of the tracks offers something really interesting and the release has wide appeal. For us @DanielKyo just takes it though with his dark take on the original with a rock solid beat and hypnotic synths.

The ‘Panorama Bar’ mix series strikes back in its 7th installment with club veteran and psych-house maestro @ndbaumecker. His composite identity as a selector, collector, club curator and musician feeds heavily into the diversity of nd_baumecker's 120-minute vinyl-only mix – including six exclusive tracks over two 12”s.

On Panorama Bar 07 | Part II, @RossFromFriends’ “High Energy” delivers from the get-go via driving saturated drums and heady, lo-fi atmospherics, followed by @Dave-Aju’s lush electronic tropicalia “Wayahed”. The final track belongs to Dutch duo @Duplex-techno, who deliver big with “Isolator”, propelled forward by unpredictable claps, snares, open hats and multiple melody lines in a deceptively complex arrangement – made to sound easy.

Previews of our second reissue; SHRR02 is a 2-track compilation EP consisting of music released by Ronan Ó Cíosóig on One Louder Recordings throughout 2001-2002. A peculiar and short-lived Irish label, One Louder Recordings only released two records, both of which are now highly sought after and practically begging to be repressed. Remastered for both a vinyl and digital 2018 release we hope to make this music accessible again, both to those who've yearned for a copy for years and to those who are just hearing it now for the first time.

Subconscious Threat combines haunting melodies, cavernous warehouse-rave bass, and a hypnotic skipping tech house groove throughout it's expertly crafted 6 minutes of run-time, this 2018 re-edit (edited by Ronan himself), switches the quick-fire kick drums of the original for a straighter four-on-the-floor pattern, utilises some sharper hi-hat and snare action, and reduces the pace slightly - more suitable for the generally slower house & techno sets played by DJ's today compared to the 90's. On the flip, and taking a more light-hearted turn, the slowed-down 2018 re-edit of Simpleton utilises its bouncing minimal framework to create a slightly more abstracted and playful mood. Both tracks work very well on the dancefloor, and have been receiving playtime from a few high-profile DJ's over the past decade or so.

Ron's Mobile Disco - Subconscious Exploration EP [PREVIEWS]

Brighton-based producer Caldera joins up with Boogie Box Records offering four broken techno cuts titled ‘13 17’ this November.

Originally from Germany, Caldera has been making steady progress within the off kilter techno scene whether as a resident at Brighton’s Patterns, or releases on WNCL Recordings, Noorden and his Riviera Club label. 

His first production outing of the year so far, Caldera now joins Boogie Box’s ever impressive roster of artists, following quality releases from the likes of STL, Cain, Causa and Appleblim, not to mention remixes from Shed, Forest Drive West, Fold, Jonas Friedlich and Juniper.

Kicking things off, ‘Akman’s Rhythm’ deploys organic rolling percussion fused harmoniously over the intricate, outlandish melody and fluid bass line whilst ‘Old Hands’ delivers spaced-out, leftfield drums balanced with soothing resonance and warm vibrations.

‘Anaconda Legs’ offers dusty grooves throughout, keeping it deep and fluid through subtle, fluttering synths and hypnotic oscillations. Finally, ‘A Moment To Breathe’ pitches things down, incorporating a darker atmosphere as unfolding chugged out pulsations join recondite ambience.

FAHRLAND – what nobody knows should be everyone’s gold. The noughties were a naughty time for the Sound Of Cologne – playfulness ensued and the collective known as FIRM were central figures of that period. The musician named GEIGER was there to lead the way – to pinpoint an ambition or a genre to his music is no strong feat, but his impact was a clear influence on what the music of KOMPAKT would evolve to be, from here and beyond.

2018 marks the return of GEIGER – resurrected as FAHRLAND with the release of “MIXTAPE VOL. 1” (KOMPAKT 382 / CD142) – a sonically perplexing but undeniably groovy full length that we feel was one of KOMPAKT’s most ambitious and fulfilling releases of recent times. FAHRLAND wanted to take the album to the dance floors of today so has come up with “NIGHT VERSIONS”. 4 club ready versions of key album tracks for those that require a bit more thump before rump.

The 5th release on BLKMARKET MUSIC comes from Scumdolly entitled ‘Making Ends Meet’ in the format of two separate vinyl. 

Changing Room One and Changing Room Two are tracks that were made around seventeen years ago and never saw an official release. Scumdolly is an alias of Craig Richards, an artist we admire 
and are really hyped to work with.  

The tracks feature new remixes by Subb-an & Adam Shelton, Taimur & Alexander Gentil, and Rhadoo. 

On Vinyl One [BLKMUSIC 004.1] The A side features Making Ends Meet (Changing Room One), which is an original breakbeat version by Craig Richards that comes with with a twisted remix by Birmingham’s Subb-an & Adam Shelton on the B side. 

On Vinyl Two [BLKMUSIC 004.2] The A side features Making Ends Meet (Changing Room Two), which is a 2nd original version by Craig Richards that is more four on the floor on the A1. On the A2 Taimur & Alexander Gentil deliver a driving New York style remix. On the B side Romania’s Rhadoo delivers his version with a more minimalistic approach to the track.

Powder is an alchemist of time. Manki and Stieb are two friends from Bucharest who discovered early on that they have a passion for music, be it the listening, the digging or the playing, and they enjoy playing it together. Raised with Dark Metal in the '90s and opening afterwards towards a variety of genres, such as Breakbeat, Drum & bass, Dub, Trip Hop, Acid Jazz, Hip Hop, Disco, Funk, they started playing at local clubs and festivals in 2006 with a mix of Funk and Breakbeat. They were later irreversibly transformed by Indie Dance and eventually settled on a little bit of everything: Dark Disco, Synth Pop, Coldwave, Balearic, Electro, Soulful House, Deep House, Tech House, Techno, Minimal, plus some of the old influences. 

They are in awe at the sheer quantity of good music being produced out there these days, but also pay a tribute to all musicians who have enlightened the past, as well as the present, with their creations. It is a pleasure and a privilege to dig through all the music out there, find their gems, mix them together and share them with other people.
