About time I showed this off. I've been hoarding this for a while (as evident from the Preview Suite), but I decided to thank you guys with this. I don't really like dabbling in non-Kondo Mario music too often, but I've made an exception for this.

The original was a pretty driving song with lots of jazzy organs and brass going on, so I decided to take that basic concept and put a bit of a twist onto it. It shouldn't sound too redundant, in that sense, though it'd hopefully bring out vibes of the original.

(What's this? The drums are too weak? I wonder why...)

August 13 marks the birthday of celebrated Nintendo composer, Koji Kondo. Since joining the company in 1983, he has written countless songs for many beloved games, becoming somewhat of a legend amongst video game music enthusiasts worldwide.

This remix was made to celebrate Koji Kondo's birthday, taking after certain (although not all, I must admit) elements of Kondo's musical style, and reincorporating them into a remix of the Super Mario Sunshine main theme. I hope you like this remix as much as I love Koji Kondo's music!

Chip meets chip meets guitar meets synth. I wanted to stick a little close to the style I've established with the previous level theme, while also extending the song and mixing various styles of instrumentation to give the feeling of time melting into itself.

(The eventual soundtrack release will have two full loops of the song.)

mystic cave zone just has a really fun bounce to it, with a lot of bluesy chromatic stuff that i love!  so, i wanted to make my own fun version of it as well.  lots of loud noisy synths and a big ol' fake guitar, with those signature npc "obnoxious frantic drums"

hopefully gonna be picking up steam again soon, so, y'know.  keep your eyes open, ears perked up.  honey, you've got a big storm comin'.

sonic mania is REALLY GOOD.  it lived entirely up to the hype for me, i love this game, i love the soundtrack, hhhhngh

anyway, uhh, this is a cover of Friends, by Hyper Potions!  it's the trailer music, and it plays if you chill on the title screen long enough.  it's such a jam, and i've had it stuck in my head for weeks now.  hope you like my rendition of it~!
