Swink Music Records are back with their latest vinyl release. SMR014 will showcase the talents of 2 producers who need no introduction. ManooZ and Timmy P have been releasing some fine music over the past couple of years, both individually and separately and their latest collaboration, "Things You Do" is definitely no exception. This one has been in the works for a quite a while now and is definitely worth the wait as it finally drops with 2 heavy original tracks, "Things You Do" AND "Willie G".

The solid groove of ManooZ & Timmy's first original track "Things You Do" is a built on a combination of a heavy rhythm, dub style bassline and cleverly programmed drums and percussion, creating a flawless flow to the track. The melodic element to the track comes from its evolving pad chords which rise throughout the track providing the perfect transition throughout the arrangement. Clever use of a processed spoken word sample re-introduces the track at the transition point of the main breakdown, adding the finishing touches to an overall no-frills roller.

The second original track "Willie G" provides a funkier element to the EP with a slick groove and bouncy sub bass working nicely with a piercing chord stab to create a really essential dancefloor joint. Evolving synth chords introduced throughout the track, cement the flow and take the track to the next level. Slick production and arrangement come together on this one and the result is a full on groover of a track ready to be unleashed.

Completing a really strong EP, Swink also drop a massive remix from French producer Fulbert, who provides his "Sakura Vibe" remix of "Things You Do". Fulbert takes the track in a completely new direction with his take on the original. Introducing a tougher element to the EP, Fulbert's remix brings a deep underground vibe with a rolling groove built on a combination of dusty drums samples, rolling percussion and haunting chord and vocal stabs. Slick use of transition, off beat drum programming, and an obscure arrangement result in an amazing version of the original track!

Last Saturday I was invited to Bermudafunk, the local free radio station in Mannheim/Germany, for their Clubnight show. After a short 15-minute interview talk, I recorded my mix live the Feuerwache Mannheim studio.

Originally, the host DJ Jascha was set to close the show after 1h30, but after one track he asked me to jump back in - so we ended up playin'  back 2 back til the very end.

He constantly delivers a wide spectrum between raw & analog Detroit/Chicago/Garage House and sophisticated warm Deep House. 

Since releasing his first production ‘Touch The Floor’ on UK label Extended Play, ManooZ is a mainstay in the boxes of the House music patriarchs. Names such as Agnès, Steve Bug, Visionquest, Robert Owens, Last Magpie, Julien Sandre, Samuel Deep, Ugly Drums, Borrowed Identity or DJ Caspa are enthusiastically supporting his raw & ballsy sound, yet his across-the-board accessibility shines through, with support continued from industry bibles such as XLR8R, Juno or Rinse FM, where he played live in London in 2012. His steady output led to further releases on quality labels like Morris Audio, Housewax, Hudd Traxx, Alive, Tomorrow is now, Kid! or Seven Music - just to name a few.
