Draaimolen Festival was a revelation for not only as a event dedicated to producing top quality sound and vibes to fans but also the pristine, forest environment it was set in. The atmosphere combined with the sound system inspired the set Eris and I were able to create that day. Hope you dig it!

I met Alexis Yasky & Uriel Esquenazi from Mexico City when we played together at a Kimika party somewhere in Baja, California in the early 2000's. They turned out to be top dudes with musical tastes that lined up perfectly with mine. At the time, they were making nice parties in Mexico City at Club Rioma called BOUNCE! and were kind enough to invite me out to play one. They ended up being brilliant hosts, solid DJs, and their party and crowd were insanely fun to play for.

Here's the scene....You walk into an ’80s club, neon lights buzzing, fog curling around the dance floor. A friend greets you with a grin and a tab of some “new kind of LSD.” Why not? You drop it. At first everything’s normal...the familiar synth-pop and EBM grooves are right where they should be.

Then the edges start to warp.

Those trusty Linn Drum beats stretch into something alien, melodies bending in on themselves like they’re being played from a parallel dimension. Maybe the acid was a little too strong… or maybe these are still just ’80s EBM tracks and you’re way too twisted to recognize them. Hard to say. But you decide to stop fighting it and ride the wave.

Eventually the trip softens, the room reassembles, and the music snaps back into focus. The ’80s tunes make sense again, like nothing ever happened, except you know you’ve just danced through an entirely different universe.
