Hailing from Brunswick, Melbourne, James and Peter Isaacs are the brotherly duo Donald’s House. They’ve been making music for around eight years.Without fail, every lunch time when making music, they’ll go to Sesame & Soul on Lygon St and order a cheese pie and Za’atar bread. James usually orders a coke zero as well.

This EP here is a collection of tracks written over a three year period. There’s a seven year age gap between the two. Pete got James into dance music by taking him to one of his parties that featured Pearson Sound and Mark Pritchard.After that, they started making music together. James is a trained Jazz guitarist, while Pete has been buying and playing records for about 15 years.

They’ve released two tracks with Sydney label Ken Oath. One on their debut sampler and one on their ambient tape. 
They previously lived in London, where they regularly attended CDR. This is where they met the dj Iona, who was the catalyst for the whole release and a mutual friend of theirs and Nick Höppner.

Taking influence from Paradise Garage styled disco, early 90s House, Italo and anything with a DMX drum kit, their take on dance dance music is as refreshing as it is familiar.You’ll often hear M1 solos, chords and stabs, juxtaposed against Phil Collins styled stadium drums, and groovy Seinfeld basslines that just beg your body to move.

Articulat is the artist name of Ovidiu Stanciu, a Romanian dj/producer living in Rotterdam. His first release on the AM label was very well received by critics an dj’s over the world, so now he present his second EP "Reflections". 
"Reflections" is an exploration of dance floor narratives, intending to induce a trance-like state of mind through a very physical sound experience. Drums, voices and machines come together to create a ritualistic, almost visual atmosphere. 
Gare du Nord is exploring a different kind of narrative, without words but with sounds crafted to depict a scene in which you write your own plot. It builds up slow and once it gets running it carries on a lot of weight. Just like an old steamer. And yes, it's with trains.

Smoke ebbed and flowed through the warehouse, engulfing all dancers in its path. Through the haze you could make out countless sweaty writhing bodies, eyes closed or heads down; each and every one lost in their own world. Their hips oscillating and swaying with every kick and stab that punctured the room. Their bodies were slave to the rhythms. 

Close family Timothy Clerkin pays tribute the foundations of rave music with a contemporary vision with his new EP Psalm. Set for release on his own Insult To Injury imprint, that he runs alongside us at R$N HQ, it features three originals torn from the late night good book. 'Slave Too' - which also gets a remix on the flip from Simian Mobile Disco's Jas Shaw - takes things up a gear following opener 'Psalm', bringing with it heavy breaks and detuned stabs that transport us back to the early 90s.

Over the last month, the music and events industry has entered unchartered territory due to the Covid-19 lockdown, and artists and online media have found themselves in a financially vulnerable position with much more time on their hands.

To help some of those artists, and provide Ransom Note with much-needed financial support, three weeks ago we reached out to some friends of the website with the challenge to make a track in collaboration with another producer, musician or vocalist, remotely, in 10 days. The result is ‘Pen Pals’: a compilation featuring 15 collaborations from 32 artists.

Due to the current situation we’ve increased royalties for all artists involved and, whilst the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions apply, accounting will be processed fortnightly. Profits from the compilation will also provide financial support for Ransom Note who have been heavily impacted by the halt of the events industry.

Amalgamating influences from religious Brasilian folk music, balearic, cosmic / downtempo and heavy percussive styles, Elevator Edit #7 encapsulates the ethos of London's Elevator East clubnight in just under seven minutes of no-holds-barred, heads-down eclectic chug. The project began in February 2018, having recently celebrated its second birthday, and has gained a reputation for inviting a heady mix of young new talent and underground legends to unique spaces in East London, as well as taking the Elevator crew to gigs across France, Italy and the Netherlands. 
Sitting deep in the Amazon jungle, Elevator Edit #7 is a capoeira invocation-turned-cosmic chugger from Elevator East man Mikey Sibson, encapsulating the ethos of the clubnight, Available for download on Bandcamp.

PREMIERE : Capoeira Na Casa (Elevator Edit)

“When the driver reaches ultimate speed, he realised the world as he knew it was morphing. The array of beams and city lights became waves of spectrum entering the quantum realms. The sizzling frequencies became rhythmic melodies and his body started to get lighter and lighter until he reached 0 gravity. This anamorphic world he entered was called The Drive.”
 
Entering the remix world for the first time, at Fauve Records, it was important to create a panoply of genres. We thoroughly selected 4 remixers for The Drive [Re-Mix] EP. 
 
On duty first is Lauer (Running Back) from Germany who needs no introduction. To our eyes, his recognisable touch was perfectly fitted for the title track “The Drive”, nostalgia was the approach, long build-ups bringing you into a melancholic trance.
 
Number two is our long time favourite local Hong Kong producer who also needs no introduction, Mr Ho (Klasse Wrecks). His approach of “Ke Ai” is a murky old school raw beat goodness, using short snippets of the original to re-create a club heater that will guarantee sweaty walls in warehouses.
 
We’re not done with you yet, our third guest, two fellas from L.A. known as Warehouse Project Society that recently released on DJ Harvey’s Mercury Rising. This duo has been on our radar for quite some time and we knew they would reinterpret “Fray” perfectly. Long and behold, mesmerising atmospheres, dub grooves and a specific dark touch that can only be perfectly executed by these maestros.
 
Last but not least, our up and coming favourite young Singaporean producer Bongomann (Darker Than Wax). We highly recommend following this little chap. His signature style being airy house breaks, he was the best bloke to remix “Air House”. His soft broken beat 90’s feel englobes the whole track lifting you up on a little cloud all the way. 
 
We want to thank from the bottom of our hearts every one involved in this release as it holds a special place in our story as our first Remix EP.
 
We hope you enjoy the tracks as much as we enjoyed putting this little puppy together.
