Bhai Ghulam Mohammed Chand Rababi  trace their lineage to Baba Mardana, through whom Guru Nanak spoke, and to the strains of whose rabab he sang his hymns. The Baba’s descendants remained rababis to all the 10 gurus, keeping alive the rabab tradition, saving the musical instrument from extinction. His uncle Bhai Chand sang to it in Darbar Sahib in Amritsar.

ਦੇਹੁ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਰਸਨ ਬਖਾਨ ॥੧॥
Please bless me with such love, O my Lord and Master, that in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I may chant the Glorious Praises of the Lord with my tongue. ||1||
