In 1991 a small team of Norwegian Scientist were working on a covert project; trying to distill the sweat off non-human bipeds' tongues. There was a small lab fire which burnt the fiercest carmine and spewed out the rancid odor of microwaved maltesers. When the flames abated, Jon Donnelly was left standing in the smoke. He lived a lonely existence. No human contact. Just occasional conversation with the non-human bipeds in the laboratory. In a desperate attempt to quell his turbulent loneliness he tore out a rib and planted it in the soft soil. Mikey Donnelly grew from that rib. Only as he sprouted from the soft soil, the long roots of a nearby redwood wrapped themselves into his twitching forearms. He became one with the wood. Jon and Mikey made a union by moonlight and broke free from the lab.
 
On their travels they met a charming steam-punk cyborg who operated under the alias 'Jim Green'. Nothing more is known of Jim Green other than he has omnipotent knuckles and a rapacious sweet tooth, sated only by the consumption of jam creams and a steaming mug of flesh-toned breakfast tea. That is all.
