It is time again to share another Live Recording from the history of SPEED as part of the SPEED Mix Series. This Recording takes us back to our last Naarm event, held April 28th at Sub Club, when we teamed up with Berlin-based label Space Trax to present a massive headline set from label head - Philipp Drube. 

Philipp Drube has his musical roots in the underground scene of Hamburg, where he played his first gig in 2011. Two years later, he moved to Berlin, where he was held a residency at Ismus from 2015 until 2020 and founded the label Space Trax with fellow Frank Heise. 

His meticulous and hand-tailored sets focus on fast-paced Techno and different faces of Trance. A blend that earns him appearances at Berlin’s most established venues such as Säule (Berghain), Griessmühle/RSO, Tresor or ÆDEN and event series like Mala Junta or Synoid, as well as several venues throughout Germany, Europe, the US and Australia.

We were so excited and honoured to be able to host Philipp for this Australian tour, and very happy to now share this incredible live recording with you all!

Jamie founded Silent Season after moving to the remote woodlands of British Columbia in the mid-2000s. Ya a principios de los 90, se podía palpar cuáles eran sus influencias más marcadas en sus primeras sesiones al sur de la capital: industrial, ebm, electro-techno,, o acid-house entre otras. Ahora el manejo de samplers, sintes y secuenciadores eran sus nuevos instrumentos, comenzando así su faceta como productor sin apenas darse cuenta.  
Sus sesiones empiezan a oírse junto a los precursores de estos sonidos, a principios del 2000. Es en este momento cuando empiezan a ver la luz sus nuevas producciones, con su característico sonido dark. pasando desapercibidas para la mayoría de sellos nacionales, pero no fuera de nuestras fronteras, siendo finalmente Savas Pascalidis, quien le recluta a principios de 2004 para su sello LASER GUN RECORDS 
y edita más tarde "Slave Of The Darkness EP", disco que tuvo una acogida y críticas magníficas. Más tarde HU edita "Kiss Your Boots Ep" y "Kontakt Ep", Devilock, "Animatronik Ep", “Only Dance For Me EP”  en Bomb Boutique, “The Secrets Of Alliens EP” para Elektrocuts Records. hasta llegar a usu últimas refrencias del del sello Catalan  Properproud. o sus más recientes trabajos en su propio sello Industrias Mekanikas.
Su estilo personal realizando remixes  ha hecho que  sea el nombre elegido por muchos artistas del panorama electrónico, para realizar sus versiones, entre ellos: Equitant "Elements", Pol "Thought Control", “My World” Veronika Nikolic, “Planet Terror” Raul Parra, “The Return” Scorpi, “That's All” Equitant & Yasmin Gate, “Move Sound” Fresharts, “Storm F5” Kaball, destacando sus últimos remixes para SPACE FACTORY sello dirigido por DAVID CARRETTA para artistas como ADRIANO CANZIAN "Amyl Nitrate", DOUGLAS MCCARTHY  feat. Yasmin Gate “Lips” o ESPLENDOR GEOMETRICO. Montesco fue durante 8 años, uno de los primeros residentes del legendario club STARDUST, además de otros clubs de la capital  como:  Long Play, The Wicked, Summun, Intruder, Abuse, Insomnia, Parabellum, Vektrum, Siberia, Moebium… Además a visitado infinidad de clubs y festivales como: Elecktra, Utopia, Coppelia 101, Land, Danzoo, Nature, Cream, Killdisko, Le Garage, Sala 31, Noctua, Bassago, Aqua, Moog, Metro Dance Club, Klubbers Day, Space Of Sound Festival, Plano B (Porto), Le Cabinet, Jack's House, Zoo-Usine (Geneve), o Fuse-In (Detroit),  entre otros…  
Sin duda podemos decir de Ruben Montesco que se ha convertido en uno de los nombres propios de la capital y fiel representante del sonido EBM y electro-techno de nuestro país. 
Actualmente ha lanzado su propio sello discográfico INDUSTRIAS MEKANIKAS donde está apostando por electrónica de calidad y donde seguro este gran artista no dejara de sorprenderno

Started djing in 1997 in Kaunas, Lithuania. Since the early nineties he was regular at various rave parties and were heavily influenced by Detroit Techno and the likes of Acid House.


“I still remember clearly the feeling when I was entering rave parties at the time. It was a very young scene. The music, the people, the atmosphere and djs too were the ones responsible for the chaos and braking the borders of country’s long lived soviet oppression. It was a new generation growing up.” – notes Mantas T.Few years later it was a new experience living outside the country. Mantas T. was gone to the States (New York) and later to the UK where he faced the beginning of 80’s revival.In 2004, Mantas came back in his homeland, Lithuania. Based in Vilnius, with a fresh experience and a record bag full of cutting-edge beats, his dj sets became acclaimed nationwide. With his TV and radio appearances, demo mixes and self-irony, Mantas became a well-known resident of the first Lithuanian underground nightclub Gravity. The first club night called “Revolt” brought a lot of spark into the lithuanian music scene. Partyzanai, as party promoters, invited local Djs and international guests such as Damian Lazarus, Marc Almond, Steve Kotey, The Orb, Daniel Bell, Ewan Pearson, Jori Hulkkonen.In summer 2005,  Mantas T. with his colleague Gvidas established a non-profit netlabel under the name of Partyzanai. Initial label’s purpose is 24/7 search and releases of electronic music artists in Baltic region. Having the first album release of the artist named Golden Parazyth, Partyzanai netlabel was widely acclaimed nationwide. Another netlabel artist’s – Few Nolder – single “No mo”  and fresh new album “New Folder” is already out on legendary Planet MU label. 
In 2006-2009 as well as djing abroad, Mantas T. successfully organised the local night series. Focusing on good music quality and live visuals, it soon became the hottest night in town with the Lithuanian VJ teams Rüt Rüt and Vodka Jugend. Mantas T. was involved in guest appearances and live acts of Andrew Weatherall, Keith Tenniswood , Ivan Smagghe, Joakim, Funkstörung, Kiki, Swayzak, Phonique, Tiefschwarz, My My, Roman Flügel, Optimo , Superpitcher, Apparat, Nathan Fake, Troy Pierce, Ada, Pilooski, Faze Action, Toby Tobias, Jennifer Cardini, Tobias Thomas, Alex Smoke to name a few. Mantas T. traveled as far as Iceland. Played in “Scene: NRW” contemporary art festival and C/O POP festival in Germany.
 
In year 2008 love brought Mantas T.  to Cologne. Recently, besides running his own label, he is a resident and promoter of mobile audio-visual project called Go Gaga.
