This weeks mix is from Rhodri Price, co-founder of notorious welsh label HAWS. For this mix Rhodri pulled out all the stops, sending us back in time with a huge selection of old skool breaks bangers! I can imagine it now, huge warehouse vibes and plenty of good times. Ain’t no skool like the old skool. Tracks featured on this mix are from legends such as Bass Construction, Top Buzz, Cosmo & Dibs, Gordon Edge, Jonny L and DJ Seduction. Catch Rhodri playing a HAWS event in Distrikt bar leeds featuring a very tasty line up of maruwa + Space Cadets (Adam pits & lisene. he’s also back in the studio after a long layoff from production so keep your ear to the ground for that as well. Having released serious heat on the likes of Mighty Force, Ping Disc and Moatun 7, Confine is a sublime 4 track EP that straddles the lines between Acid, Electro & IDM.

The record kicks off with the majestic title track Confine (+) beautiful & shimmering with hallmarks of early UK techno and break laden IDM that sets the scene for what’s to come.

Next up is the atmospheric brilliance of Outbreak (++) an almighty track that will take you to a far-off place, with some delicate acid work for those 303 nuts, seriously good!

On the flip we find Alastria (-) and the ominous sounding Omichron (- -) both of which fire up thunderous breakbeats and otherworldly synth lines together with some acid from the dark side.

All in all a superbly crafted EP from this exciting newly emerging artist.

Celebrating an unexpected milestone of 50 episodes shared in this series, the label founder showcases another variation in underground explorations with this dive into the more progressive side of Hannd's collection. Featuring tracks from both Comma Traxx and side project ToneShift, this mix celebrates the current and future of where the Comma sound aims to explore.

He blends bouncy club focused rhythms and the other-worldly soundscapes of dreampop, film soundtracks, and shoegaze, culminating into a fresh and distinctive sound that he affectionately refers to as ‘Blade Runner Techno’. 

As a DJ, Primrose is drawn to dramatic, emotional sounds and storming rhythmic transmissions from across the spectrum of electronic music and beyond, weaving between house, techno, 80s New Wave, post-punk & EBM.
