Travis Barrington was undoubtedly one of our most exciting discoveries of 2020 and it brings us great joy to offer a platform to share his detailed sound.

The four track EP is marked by an infectiously uplifting swing, with all tracks a timely fit for the reopening of dancefloors. Kinetic tones is filled with the same energy the track takes it’s name from. An understated groove sits above warm textures, making way for a euphoric breakdown. Midnight Mistress is an expert display of Travis’ classy yet danceable sound; a deep and dreamy journey that could easily continue beyond its 8 minute run time. Sleep Walking follows, leading with a delicate melody that balances its elegant baseline. Closing the EP Is Waves, the clubbiest cut of the EP. The right amount of bounce is expertly embellished with interesting sampling - one for the body and the mind. A bright release from an equally bright talent, we are so excited to hear more from Travis.

Mantra Collective are honoured to present the fifth release from our digital sublabel Pandorea Records from Melbourne based Thomas David. With two impressive contributions to our previous Pandorea releases alongside a standout vinyl release on local imprint Ochre, Thomas David continues to cement himself as one of Australia’s finest minimal producers.

His four track EP is polished with the signature tripped out flavour Thomas David excels at. Cleanly cut details and low slung basslines make for understated tracks primed for dimly lit dancefloors. Embellished with spooky synth lines and propelled by a sludgy bass, Blue Bend is a sludgy after-hours cut reminiscent of the quintessential Australian bush doof. Taking a more rhythmic approach It Happens Always Lately immerses the listener in its rolling groove before seducing with a distorted vocal hook. Long Lost Brother takes a more housey approach, with its tight drum work layered with dreamy and gently swung percussion. Lastly, the psychedelic bounce of Pots + Pans rounds out the EP with its loopy atmospheres and unhinged soundscapes.

Mantra Collective are proud to present the sixth release from our label Pandorea Records from Melbourne's very own Michaelis. No stranger to Pandorea Records, Michaelis produced "Wims Groove" was supported by international heavyweights across the world.

His new four track EP for Pandorea Records 006 is influenced by the house and minimal sounds coming out of Europe with his style of elaborate grooves and well placed wonk. Drawing inspiration from old funk and jazz and adopting an organic, sample-based process, his tracks have an intricate yet playful sound that draws you in and makes for beautiful listening and big dance floor moments.

With an attention to detail and a strong focus on groove - Michaelis is a producer and dj quietly turning heads with his intelligent take on minimal house.

In just a few short years, Miami's Camelia has carved a unique reputation with a celestial sound that exudes a warmth & depth of character unlike any other.

For the 103rd iteration of the Mantra Collective podcast, we’ve got another slice of Russia coming in hot. Recorded live at MIR festival earlier this year, minimal mastermind Soultape has supplied the grooves and the goods for the next 80 minutes. 

After three solo releases since May 2020, Dennis Kondraschenko is quickly taking up space on record store shelves all over the world, showing no signs of stopping. One half of the Adjustment Bureau, Soultape is one to watch in the coming year.

For their second release, Mantra Collective take this opportunity to showcase two rising Australian based artists, Venda and Mike Watts who combine their sound for Agave, an introspective cut with an undeniable groove. Metallic resonances swirl throughout the spectrum, purposefully fused with distant spatial intricacies. Energy shifts and flows throughout the track providing heightened moments of tension and release.

Mike Watts brings a complimentary approach with his meditative solo work Ridjimiraril. Pulsating low end creates a foundation from which melodic ideas, natural sounds and stark moments of abstracted sonic interest can dance throughout the stereo field.

On remix duties, OdD flip Agave with their undeniably unique approach. The arrangement develops and evolves, harnessing melodic sections of the original while modulating sounds and concepts are translated with expert guidance and finesse.

For this edition of our Mantra Collective Podcast we present Dublin-based producer Noah Skelton who dives deep into subtle and hypnotic soundscapes he is revered for. The outcome: a warm, soul-soothing sound collage of atmospheric bliss. 

The past few years have seen Noah Skelton expertly nurture his refined deep-house sound. Since his outbreak vinyl releases in 2017, on Silencio and Rackmizar, Noah has continually showcased the stylistic open-endedness of his dreamy musical universe. He draws inspiration from breakbeat, dub and often acoustic sounds, whilst remaining unmistakably true to his own identity. The emotive pull of his iconic ‘Daytime Hovering’ on MAYAK is incomparable. The piece remains one of the most sublime examples of the delicate applications of what has traditionally been a club-oriented sound. 

With 2020 already heralding the release of two impeccably-polished EP’s on French labels Daydream France and Amour, we look forward to watching this promising talent continue to flourish.

It is always a pleasure to celebrate local artists and our latest mix is one have been excited about for some time. Melbourne’s Bex delivers an hour and half of expertly selected minimal leaning house and techno. Moving between intricate, heady rhythms and more upbeat club tunes with impeccable flow - this one is nothing short of a ripper. 

Visual artist and DJ, Bex, has firmly established herself as a mainstay of the underground electronic music scene in Melbourne. Her recent Melbourne Deepcast mix was one of the most memorable we’ve heard this year. Bex has a distinctive yet versatile style, she weaves anything from old tech house classics, through to minimal and left field house with ease, favouring cuts rich with atmospherics. 

Bex’s multidisciplinary talent manifests in her project Space Cast: an ambient and experimental mix series and exchange project. Space Cast is dedicated to supporting primarily Victorian artists through connecting visual art and sound. Bex is an all rounder in the truest sense of the word, and we are delighted to host her on our series.

For their fifth output on the main label, Unic present their first full-length album from Bucharest’s Guy from Downstairs, accompanied by beautiful artwork from Juli Jah. For the 92nd edition of our podcast, we invite Melbourne based producer and DJ Dan Goul. Dan's atmospherics and lush soundscapes have turned heads locally and internationally. With 3 vinyl releases under his belt in addition to various digital outings - most recently a stellar release for Berg Audio - his discography contains impressive contributions to labels including MixCult, Standalone Records, What Robot Says, Farmat and Gliese, Dan has garnered support from the likes of Janeret and Andrey PUSHKAREV. With more releases due out in 2021, Dan’s trajectory certainly looks promising.
