Returning to the European electronic music capital once more for its annual gathering, Mango Alley celebrates another Amsterdam Dance Event with the 8th incarnation of its exclusive compilation. A creative aesthetic blossoms in a city renowned for its artistic heritage where an intricate tapestry of art and music blends into a glorious collective assembly. From Grachtengordel to De Wallen and Prinsenelland to Jordaan, a global gathering of artists reunite and forge new friendships under dance music's all-inclusive banner.

Through 22 tracks of innovation and passion, a wonderful world of unity creates a dynamic point of view and a new golden age of art. Thumping beats and shimmering melodies bounce off cobbled streets and historic facades while a network of canals tell their own history in a city imbued with music old and new. Along the Damrak, a kaleidoscopic array or clubs vie for attention in a mesmerising display of sonic brilliance. Moving towards the stars and an inky black night sky, temporary feelings of tension and worry are unburdened in the Amsterdam nightlife, evaporating into the ether on the rising refrains of low-end vibrancy and rippling musical waves. Rising up and from somewhere else converged as one in Amsterdam.

Nikko.Z's Dopamine White caps off a great year by welcoming Zuccasam to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from the UK, Zuccasam first emerged in May of this year with a release via new imprint Electric Eden Records. Immediately recognized for his groovy melodic take on progressive house, the London resident would go on a creative swell across the next six months, releasing follow-up projects for Electric Eden, while also adding Distant Desires, Nightcolours and Night Light Records to his resume. Now, capping off what has been a great first year, Zuccasam debuts on Dopamine White with a three-track showcase entitled 'Island Smile'. Zuccasam continues to explore modern progressive house sensibilities on the lead selection 'Island Smile'. Muscular and energetic, it's a framework of powerful kick drums and chunky bass tones which lay the foundation for gritty percussion, squelchy stabs and orbiting effects to create an intense first act. Free-form melodies take centrestage across the break, bringing with them a euphoric, otherworldly feel, furthering Zuccasam's potency as an artist, and perfectly setting the course for a huge peak-time finale. Selection two is the equally impressive 'Laser Break' which takes square aim at a main room dancefloor once again. As an apt barometer of where Zuccasam's headspace is at, it's a selection of shapely grooves, effervescent percussion and misty melodies which elevate the mood set by its predecessor. Energies shift and emotion rises as the interlude takes shape, with broken beats, swirling atmospheres and emotive melodies tastefully building tension towards a finale that is sure to cast a spell over the listener. The space-dance foray 'Feartone' follows and further cements Zuccasam's dancefloor minded ethos. Its rolling drive is anchored by rocketing beats and a forest of robust percussive splashes, tastefully building to a wild-eyed intensity of percolating rhythms, gated vocals and panning effects. With an energy that exudes confidence, Zuccasam pulls from his expansive repertoire as the main break takes shape, surveying a tense and calculated build, as melodies dance and shimmer, ultimately peaking with a powerful drop for the ultimate rush to round out the EP in style.

For the first release of 2024 on ICONYC we welcome Messier & Zy Khan for their full-length debut release titled 'Prestige'. The US & UK based producers mark their debut with two exquisite progressive and melodic techno influenced track, which are easily one of their best bodies of works to date. The duo has amassed releases on prestigious labels such as Beatfreak, Area Verde, Dear Deer and Natura Viva to name a few while carefully building their profile with high quality releases throughout.

The opening track 'Whistler' features rich driving textures; as well as euphoric and moody progressive melodic techno vibes to satisfy clubbing, uplifting and feel-good needs, which are the keywords for this fine-sounding and extraordinary release. Utilizing a hypnotizing groove as the basis of the mix underpinned by a deep bass that gradually eases its way to the breakdown of breaks before unleashing into a rising melodic hook intertwined with the infectious groove that fades in and out for maximum effect. A sure-fire winner. Essential stuff from Messier & Zy Khan. 

The accompanying track 'Prestigeaux' delivers dance floor-oriented progressive vibes to het any dancefllor moving. The track is interspersing with roomy glowing love, filtered stabs and stunning groove which beautifully leads into a drop full of tension and excitement, with the understated yet driving bassline powering the groove along. The duo manages to keep the energy up, allowing the driving melodic house feel to shine thru over the many layers and textures to create a beautiful soundscape to round off this classy underground crowd pleaser. 

With 'Prestige', Messier & Zy Khan really show that there're no boundaries, as this beautiful melodic release guides you to a dance floor heavy, melodic hug of a release that will leave you with many smile-induced moments! Not to be missed.
