schallfeld ist Weite - Furche um Furche, Linie um Linie, die an einem vorbeirauschen, wenn sich
die Wege kreuzen.
Schrillend schallende Synth-Fetzen schreien aus dem dunkel-treibenden Bass-Geflecht hinaus wie
Blitzinferno in der Nacht – teils klagend, teils losgelöst, teils melancholisch aber immer fordernd.
Ein Algorythmus der Gleichmäßigkeit, der Bewegung verfangen - Furche um Furche, Linie um
Linie.
Angesichts einer bunten flippig glitternden Klangwelt, die einen tagtäglich anbrüllt, will
schallfeld der Gleichgültigkeit mit Ungleichgültigkeit entgegentreten. Ein Gedanke der
Nachdenklichkeit schwingt über dem Set wie das Damoklesschwert über der Konsumgesellschaft -
klug gesetzte Elemente entwickeln im richtigen Kontext eine größere Bedeutung als überladene,
überkomprimierte Musikmonster. Weniger ist manchmal mehr – Polyphonie in der Monotie des
rotierenden Loops - Furche um Furche, Linie um Linie.

Welcome back once again to the Depth Perception Sessions.

This week we welcome US based artist Cheric to the show.

Bio:

Passion and consistency are the foundation of a true artist. What’s in a name or status compares not to a focused vision no matter the course of the journey. Eric “Cheric” Chen is a Queens, New York native whose vision of making music that keeps true to himself will never alter. Many artists conform to the norm and “the now,” but Cheric creates from the heart, whether he loves his work or battles the inner critic, he won’t deliver unless the music comes from his soul.

Cheric’s music explores the subtle and expansive natures of dance music and that’s landed him original releases and remixes on Click Amsterdam, Cinematique (Manual Music), Baroque, and Box4Joy (Incepto). His remix of Bella Mer’s “Loaded Gun” gained much praise for it’s deep, hypnotizing, progressive soundscape and the story behind it. "Loaded Gun is about the tendency to be drawn toward harm and a desire for danger... a moth to the flame. A world in which every archetype points a loaded gun at each others' heads in judgment and blame." Something many of us can relate to.

With the inner voice telling him to keep focus and stay on the grind, Cheric continues to progress forward as a true artist. An artist who accepts difficulties and successes all the same in order to manifest his vision of making music that keeps true to oneself.
