Lets kick off with the original, and its a brooding bubbling baselined gem, slowly meandering along as it builds, layered with tasty vocal effects as the vibe phaetons throughout. As we get to the drop, high strings and pads land creating tension, making this a solid dance floor gem. The first of the remixes comes from Cid Inc, who utilises the bassline to maximum effect, filtering the pattern, and adding techier beats and big chunky synthy bass like hits, which adds an extra top line in the drop before pouring back in to action! The Toffs deliver two mixes, first up is 'Toffts Remix', creating a groove, and subtly using the bassline, bringing it in and out, whilst the journey slowly unfurls... The second of their mixes is the'Tofts Club Mix', which strips things back to a minimal workout, plenty of trippy fx and snippets of vocal that meet rising and descending tones.

Beginning 2018 by remixing two of the industry's most revered talents in Nick Warren and Jerome Isma-Ae, Cid Inc now presents his first original project of the year. 'Abyss' is the hugely anticipated follow-up to the Finnish artist's chart topping progressive anthem 'Shifter'. A staple in the sets of Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren all throughout 2017, it sat comfortably as one of the genre's best by year's end.

From stripped, punchy beginnings 'Abyss' retains the progressive techno ethos Cid Inc. was instrumental in creating almost a decade ago. Encased in a crisp rhythmic shell, warm bass swells and machine gun cadence drive the foundation. The storyboard evolves with delicate melodic lines and impassioned overlays, eventually melting down into a euphoric break. As the melodies blossom an intensely emotive crescendo is reached as a soulful wail summons a powerful final act.

The companion piece 'From Within' finds Cid Inc. exploring dreamier textures and wistful sonic tapestries. Binding rhythmic flow with distinctive stabs and hypnotic arps makes for a sleek, meditative first act. A perfect prelude of sorts, as tasteful chord
changes summon melancholic motifs and hopeful pads, building subtly as a smooth rush embodies warmth towards a purring finale.

Sitting comfortably in the present, 'Abyss' maintains that timeless flair which embodies Cid Inc's work. Two striking tracks for the impending spring season and no doubt a look ahead to more exceptional music from the Finnish artist.

As we enter the summer frenzy of festivals, late nights and fun, Sudbeat introduce Ezequiel Arias with a triple dose of warm, inviting beats to soundtrack those musical adventures. The Argentinian will be familiar to many with stand out tracks already on high profile labels such as Plattenbank and Replug. For his debut on Sudbeat, Arias unveils three consistently brilliant tracks - 'Passenger', 'Control Is an Illusion' and 'Inertia' - which perfectly showcase his talents as a producer. 

The influence of Kevin Di Serna (Ezequiel’s mentor and close friend) is clear to see. Opening track, ‘Passenger’ has a driving percussive undertow crafted with delicate synth sweeps, pads and ethereal voices to add to the drama. It exudes a warmth and completeness that will have you begging for more on each play. 

‘Control Is an Illusion’ continues the theme of subtle driving deepness from the first beat. More energetic in sound design that the opener, it is a good lesson in how sparse arrangements and clever use of tension and release can result in a track that captivates the dance floor. Arias pays a great deal of attention to the finer details making his music stand head and shoulders above the rest. 

Closing the EP is ‘Inertia’. Far from being sluggish or lethargic, Arias employs his most bold sound designs on this robust peak-timer. Bubbling acidic undertones meander alongside the track mark pads which build in intensity with ethereal voices. A shaker-led percussion adds greatly to the drive of the track making this the heaviest of the three. A superb finale to a well crafted debut release.

At a time when progressive music continues to flourish so too does Dmitry Molosh. As one of the movements brightest stars, the Belarus based artist has continued to dominate the scenes landscape. A string of Beatport chart hits along with live play from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy J and Replug’s own Cid Inc., have made him one of the genre’s trendiest artists. In addition to forging strong ties with Sudbeat Music and Guy Mantzur’s Plattenbank Records, Dmitry has grown into one of Replug’s primary artists, most recently remixing Navar’s ‘You Find’ in spectacular fashion. Now returning to the label amidst much anticipation, Dmitry presents his latest artist showcase entitled ‘Detektor’, alongside a remix from Orsen.

Comprised of three tracks it’s the peak time sensibility of the title cut which gets the EP underway. Rhythmically charged, it’s chunky low end and percussive cadence unite for a gargantuan swing heavy framework. A storyboard of squelchy synths, dulcet overlays and vocal fragments make for an exhilarating first act. As the break commences the narrative shifts with a tonal top line adding further fuel to the rhythmic fire, before timely modulation and a wave of drum fills sparks a brilliant drop.

Already a favourite of Guy J, the second selection 'Only U' showcases a deeper side of Dmitry's repertoire. Charming atmospheres and emotive shades descend over warm, punchy beats and afro inspired drums. Remarkably fluid, it's emotive appeal grows during the second act, as a poignant lead theme complements the tonal creativities, soothing the senses while advancing the narrative, eventually reaching an elegant finale.

Rounding out the three originals is 'Sacra' which sees the Belarus based artist returning to his pure progressive roots. Dmitry’s penchant for warm, contoured grooves is what makes this such a dance floor gem. Deep, rolling and with a bevy of momentum it anchors the tight rhythmic core and pleasant hooks perfectly. Smooth yet euphoric, vibrant stabs add an epic flair, perfectly foreshadowing a timeless, emotionally rich lead theme which bridges the gap to immaculate elevation.

The title track 'Astral' is a gritty melodious affair, with dirty synths and tinkly tones and packs a mean punch.
