Continuing to add new talent to the roster, Nikko.Z's Dopamine White welcomes Agustin Pietrocola to the label for his debut EP. Emerging in 2017 with a string of releases via Mystic Carousel Records, the Argentinean artist went on to showcase his progressive sound via 3rd Avenue, BCSA, Droid9 South America, Mango Alley, Movement Recording and One Of A Kind. Inspired by the likes of Guy J, Marcelo Vasami and Pole Folder, Agustin now adds Dopamine White to his resume with a two-track showcase entitled Alone'.

Beginning with the title cut, Agustin crafts a dark, peak time slice of progressive house. Tough and driving from the outset, its rolling low end is perfectly carved, flowing through hip shaking undulation, while striking stabs and crisp percussion fill in the framework. As the main break takes shape the lead line rises, elevating mood and anticipation, taking with it sweeping effects which perfectly transfer energy into a tense build and thumping finale.

The companion piece Enough' continues the progressive vibe of the release in equally impressive fashion. Once again backed by a tough, driving foundation, it's a wave of phasing atmospheres and buoyant arps which take centrestage across the first act. Energetic and tense, they chart a course to spine tingling moments as sweeping noise provides a bridge into the main break. Adding a touch of emotion, the centrepiece delights with its icy cascades and devilish effects making for a spine-tingling moment, as the groove drops for a charged conclusion. It rounds out a stunning two track offering from Agustin Pietrocola, who makes an excellent Dopamine White debut.

Brazilian label favourite Felipe Novaes returns to Sprout, and this time brings some friends along with him to the party. Novaes always pushes tasty peak time drivers and always makes a welcome return to the imprint.

First up Gai Barone and Felipe deliver 'daybreak' a bouncing and warm melodic smile inducer, with its blippy melody and feel good chord progressions, this is an instant winner! Its no wonder Gai has had an impressive year with his music gracing Balance, Lost & Found And Selador to name just a few.

And then Felipe joins up with fellow Sprout fave DaBeat. With 'Cephei' they deliver a wonderful emotive end of night gem, brimming with feel good vibes, as this superb and subtle gem really works a treat!

Even though Callecat is relatively new to the scene, the Dutch duo have been making a rapid rise to recognition with their continuous high quality output. The maturity of their productions would make you believe they've been around for many years already.

Now returning on Paul Hazendonk's MNL label after last years well received 'Cabin In The Woods' EP and- more recently- their remix for Brann's single 'With No Mask', they delight us with two powerful pieces of progressive house; 'Akrasia' and 'The Alchemist'.

On remix duties we've got industry veterans K Loveski and Namatjira sharing their unique vision on both songs.

'Australia's Eric Lune is slowly carving a name for himself with highly exquisite productions that feel futuristic, whilst staying true to the progressive ethos of the early 00’s: lots of groove, highly melodic and always affecting. He debuts on Balance Music with a three-track EP that serves as an excellent showcase of a producer on the rise.

The bubbling bass on ‘Predisposition’ features an uplifting edge that propels the track into exciting spaces. The lovely vocal FX that reminds of Underworld at their euphoric best is peppered throughout, leading to a sublime melodic breakdown that is hugely uplifting. This is proper progressive house. 

On ‘Rover’ shimmering synths ride on top of engaging FX that showcase Lune’s advanced engineering skills. It slowly builds towards a melodic crescendo and a breakdown that keeps swelling to a breaking point. The thick, off-beat bass and warm kick all add to the overall 10/10 vibe.

‘Midnight Jam’ is aptly named. Energetic synths play against a determined groove that adds up to make a joyful production. Layers of melodies are introduced as it progress into a massive breakdown filled with attention-grabbing moments.'

Tripswitch’s ONEDOTSIXTWO unveils its first release of 2019 as it continues to seek out and feature the finest world-class talent within the global underground progressive house scene. The label’s highly impressive 10th release shines a spotlight on the dynamic creativity of rising Argentinian DJ/Producer Antrim, who follows his remix of Griffin Paisley’s ‘Sunspots’ (ODST0009) with his own 2-tracker. This package is further boosted by a superb set of remixes courtesy of fellow Argentinian rising-star Nicolas Rada, and one of Egypt’s most promising rising DJ/Producers, the inimitable Black 8.

‘Missing Words’ is a masterfully subtle and uniquely enthralling creation. Its relaxed, carefully arranged, hypnotic, melodic beauty marks Antrim out as being ahead of the curve. Indeed, whilst also running and releasing on his own Or Two Strangers imprint, Antrim has built a reputation for developing a highly individualistic cutting edge sound, incorporating both deep and progressive influences, and seen him impress with a steady flow of recent releases on the likes of Sudbeat, Future Sound Of Egypt, Dreamers and Particles. This exceptionally promising Córdoba-based DJ/Producer further enhances his rapidly rising reputation with the equally impressive ‘Experiments’, another highly addictive creation that exhibits a steadily building groove, coated in unhurried layers of subtle texture and splashed with joyous colours. 

Remix duties for ‘Experiments’ fall to Cairo-based Black 8, considered to be one of Egypt’s most promising rising DJ/Producers. Since 2013, his stunning and unique productions have topped the Beatport charts and graced Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat, Nick Warren’s Hope Recordings and The Soundgarden, as well as other key quality labels. Nicolas Rada is another rising star emerging from the excellent Argentinian scene and making a huge impression right now. His love of Radiohead originally opened him up to dance music and over the last 10 years he has quietly built a head of steam through his productions, enabling him to count his heroes - Danny Howells, John Digweed and Nick Warren - among an ever-growing army of admirers. His remix of ‘Missing Words’ completes this excellent package, whence a delicious, laid-back, low-slung groove underpins a beautifully deep, sun-stroked, dub-inflected interpretation that is both an effortlessly enticing and uniquely wondrous finale.

Next on ICONYC sees the return of Alex O'Rion with the reworked 2020 edit of his smash hit 'Navagio'. The talented Dutch producer has been a well-known entity within the scene and has graced some of the world's finest electronic music labels with his unique and lasting productions. Hailing from Amsterdam, Alex, developed a unique style of music, full of ambiances, paired with despondent and warm dreamy patterns that guided him to where he is to today and embodies the sound he now personifies. 

Alex leads with the outstanding rework of his timeless 'Navagio' track; a stunning driving melodic progressive house affair. The track utilizes a deep groove as foundation, underpinned by a profound bass and smooth synth chords that gradually ease their way to the summit. Unified by a relentless kick drum and dusky atmospheric emotion, the composition climaxes by adding recurrent percussive elements and soft soaked melodies that come together to create a structured sphere of sonic satisfaction. 

On remix duty we welcome Kamilo Sanclemente & Dabeat, famed for their endless high-quality productions. Their interpretation sounds mature, effortless, and full of subtle nuance. Known to never be bound by any particular style, we see the duo taking a deeper route for their rework of 'Navagio'. Kamilo & Dabeat deliver a bittersweet, quality fueled, melancholic rework that manages to get your legs shaking with each downbeat. Great stuff!

Adding to our list of all-star remixers, we drafted in Subandrio who knows a thing or two when it comes to mind blowing reworks, turning his mix into an irresistible track using the original elements with perfection. Subandrio layers more melodies and effects, whilst upping the flow with cleverly programmed tech percussion and his trademark FX elements, without destroying the essence of the original. His rework deserves to be branded 'elemental' in any sense of the word. 

Alex O'Rion has developed a unique style which endeared him to us; having established his credentials as a master of his craft. Alex's 'Navagio 2020 Rework', accompanied by 2 reworks from Kamilo Sanclemente & Dabeat and Subandrio, is certain to find its way into the playlists of the big-boys brigade.
